It depends on the host. It's not the game it's the host who does it. I can understand why some people do it. They want the people in the room to participate in the action, that includes the voice.
Sometimes on Vegas or GRAW2 you might get booted if ya dont have a mic. Mainly because they are more strategy related shooters and you need to use teamwork and communication. Havnt seen or booted anyone in any other games though for not having a mic
mostly on vegas people will kick you if you dont have a mic if theyre doing the glitch cuz theyre not sure if you can hear them and youll mess up the glitch.
If I host any game, Vegas or not, people without mics get booted. No sense in having one person ruining it for others because they can't hear/talk and then mess everything up.
Not really in graw2 b/c there is a mic glitch and sometimes people cant hear eachother, but if im ever hosting and i know someone can hear me and just decides not to listen or talk I would boot them.
Occasionally I will do it or demand it of others. It's really unfair when your stuck on a team with non talkers. Especially in a squad based game with some many opportunities to get flanked.Â
If you don't have a mic, it's broken, or the batteries are dead, send a message to one of the players requesting your voice, you should still here them talk through your speakers. It's common courtesy.
I tried to play Vegas online for the first time ever tonight, but I was too lazy to find my mic, and you guessed it, got booted. I'll probably never try to play again.
Even on games like Burnout, I heard people just dig into the guy with no mic the whole race. It's...yeah. Something. It is annoying having no mic though, because their voice comes through the speakers/tv and its distracting because 95% of them are complete tools.
In my experiance when I frist started I would always have a problem finding a game that would not disconnect or me leaving the server. Though once I met some people on the fourms it has gotten so much easier when you play with a friend.If your having trouble alot send me a friend invite and when im on i'll send you a invite to the room im in.
