Before Two Worlds came out, id always buy a game i had followed for a while, but ever since then, ive been worried about buying games. I bought Assassins Creed and Halo 3 before playing them. But other than that, ive played every game before i bought it, im scared to buy games now without playing them. Two Worlds is a perfect example that a game can look amazing, and FAIL HORRIBLY!jchaff
Thats why you look at the reviews. Anyway I dont rent before I buy cause most games you can beat on a rent unless you play online. Also you basically are paying $70 if you rent and buy.
i have a gamepass at blockbuster and its great, 21 bucks a month, 1 game out at a time.but 1 rental is 8 bucks in itself so it pays for itself with just 3 rentals, and lets say you rent a crappy game, you just wasted 8 bucks. with the gamepass, i jsut return and exchange it.
ive considered gamefly as well since you get 2 games out for the same price and have pretty much every game so if i want a more obscure title i can get it, but i dont want to wait for my games from the mail so i just go with blockbuster

I did look at reviews, GameSpot gave it a normal review saying the game was good, but it was TRASH!
The guy with the gamepass is a smart guy, i had it at one point but games quit coming out that i wanted to play.

Don't look at only Gamespot reviews, look at other reviews from different sites and compare between them. I usually look at IGN and Gametrailer's reviews too.
I like to rent games before I buy them because it saves me the trouble of buying and getting stuck with crappy games. It also keeps me from getting stuck with games that are good but too short (I've beaten games like the Darkness & JAK III in less than one week). I haven't tried GameFly yet but am thinking about it. Alot of people here seem to use and like it ok.
I have GameFly. Great service. The only downside is the time it takes to get games. Takes a week usually.Dead_Prophecy
You said it perfectly but at least most of the time you get the game on the top of your list wich is incredible since servicel like Netflix have the opposite problem fast shipping but their selectionsucks
Now that games are becoming more expensive, even with reviews, it seems risky to buy games you haven't played yourself. I only recently started to rent games before I go out to buy them. So far its been working out pretty well.hwardrocks
i bought Fifa 08, Winning Eleven 2007, Rainbow Six Vegas, Crackdown and Halo 3 without rent them first.
and almost every game i own is by GameFly "Keep it" feature
