I've been waiting for the prices of the used copies to come down, but they are staying in the $20+ range on Amazon. That means that there is still a demand for them. If the game were lousy, I imagine a lot more people would be dumping them off online and the price would be in the low teens.

Gears is still one of my favorite online games to play. My friend and I recently played for six hours and it was so much fun. I play it everyday. I mean Seriously achievement is out of my reach but just the brutal fun I have really makes my day. I can't wait for Gears 2. I can say I will lose many hours of sleep for that game. Lol
I've been playing it a lot lately. I never really got into the MP cuz I finally got on XBL when cod4 came out and played that all the time. Now that gow2 is coming out, I figure I better get ready for it.
i was really getting into it recently, actually getting good, at least until i got RROD and now i have to send my 360 to get fixed, once it comes backs though, ill be playing once again
I never played it much online. Seeing Gears 2 footage last week got me interested in the first one again. So, I installed the Windows version on my PC and played through on hardcore. That didn't seem to be enough Gears, because I then went to my 360 version and started playing it on Insane. Actually, I had beat Act V on Insane with a friend and did a couple chapters of Act I by myself. I now just have Acts III and IV to finish.
