Do you think GTA will get a perfect 10 on GameSpot?

It probably wont get a perfect scrore but it doesnt really matter.

i think the bigger the hype is for a game the better the score gamespot gives. so with that being said yes a perfect 10. i mean look at halo 3, the game is garbage compared to 2 and it got a 9.5.ag3ntz3rox0x

I disagree, Halo 3 is a very good game and it's not garbage compared to 2.

If it gets a 10, I'll even quit the gamespot forums.

There's zero chance this is going to be a perfect flawless game.

i hated tony hawk 3

they did something wrong with it. the maps were broken and not well put together.

I mean, a 10 obviously doesnt mean without all flaw on this site. (Tony Hawk had quite a few)

I agree. I have hated Halo since it's inception, but even i can see plain as day that Halo 3 is leaps and bounds better than the first two in all catagories.

Anyway, i really dont care if it does, or does not. Gamespot was dead to me the moment Jeff (and those who followed him) left the site. I remain here for forums to browse until Giant Bomb explodes. Then it's goodbye gamespot.

Also, to anyone saying anything along the lines of "I think it deserves/will get 9.9, 9.8, 8.8 etc", when was the last time you read a Gamespot review? They changed the scoring system a looooong time ago, it's in .5 increments now.

Soul Caliber for the Dreamcast got a perfect 10 as well, no games this gen have (so far).

I'll be annoyed if GTA IV gets a 9+ after removing all those features that were in San Andreas.

Why do I think this?

From what I have seen, GameSpot are VERY picky with reviewing games. (And with good reason, there are some terribly awful ones out there.) They're bound to find at least ONE thing the developer either overlooked or something that GameSpot just generally doesn't like about the gameplay/story/graphics/etc. Remember, a reviewer's job is to analyze everything down to the core - single player, multiplayer, graphics, audio, storyline, game physics, bugs... The list just goes on. That's a lot to look over in itself, so a reviewer's job isn't easy. I wouldn't be at all dismayed if they gave GTA IV a 9.0, or even an 8.0. Nobody's perfect, and when perfection happens, it's usually by accident. ;)

I think in the history of GameSpot I have only seen one game that actually got a perfect 10... an N64 Zelda title I think it was, but the full name escapes me.

Edit: Just searched for it again out of curiosity, it's this one.

It will get a 9.5/10 no doubt about it. They will mark it down on minor graphical issues and frame rate/glitches.

IGN will give it a 9.6/10. Everything will get 10 apart from graphics which will get 9.0 and gameplay will get a 9.0 or 9.5

Yeah, that logic worked out real well for Kane and Lynch. They've only given what, three perfect 10's that I know of? Ocarina of Time, THPS2, and...something on the dreamcast I think that is escaping me.

Edit: ok, four 10's: OoT, THPS3, Soul Calibur, and Chrono Cross.

hell no they pride themselves on being "honest" and different from everybody like a person trying to be cool but u just cant.

A ten on gamespot isnt considered perfect anymore. Its an example of a game that achieved what it was trying to achieve without any meaningful faults or things that could have been implemented in a seriously better way.

Its possible, but not likely.
