yeah, aside from the actual bulk xboxs there always gonna be promo ones like the simpons xboxs and halo ones
im sure theyre thinking about whats next but we wont hear anything about it until at least 2010 i bet and then it wont come out until at least 2013. im totally happy with the 360 and like others said, it would really piss people off if they released a new one soon because so many people have invested hundreds of dollars into their 360s.Spartan874you took my words :O!

I seriously doubt Microsoft has even started to consider what to do after the 360.
So to answer your question... No, Microsoft will not be releasing a new Xbox anytime in the near future.

Consoles are put on the drawing board extremely quickly, the Wii was first introduced back when the GC was released, same with 360, XBOX was just a test obviously, to see what would work, and they got things like XBL out of it. I imagine Sony is doing the same thing now, seeing what is liked out of the PS3 and drawing up concecpts for the PS4, considering it was way to bold to actually get in first place.
The original x-box only lasted from 2001 to 2005 and I thought that system had tons of gas left in it. In the last year for the original xbox Far Cray and Chaos Theory where released; Two games which proved that the system was getting ready to hit its stride, but the x-box wasn't competing well with the PS2 so Microsoft decided it best to launch a new system much earlier than need be.
So I think Microsoft will release there next console when ever they think they can turn a profit without pissing off too much of there fan base i'm thinking between 2009-2010

You're right, there's no sense in making a new system if what have have at the moment is doing well.

The Xbox 360 isn't even 2 years old. Damn, people are really jumping the gun.:? 2011-2012 is your date, so go into hibernation.
Here's proof:
He said the production team from the Xbox 360 is working on the next Xbox 720 [our pet name], and their looking into what kind of CPUs will be available on the market in 2011-2012.

Please dont tell anyone else this info but I have just found some info on the new xbox. It is going to be made in co-op with Toshiba. It will be called the TosBox. It will have a built in HD-DVD recorder, Phase change cooling, Upgradable graphics, Soid state hard disk, backward compatability with all xbox games (as seen in pic) and pc games(?), Direct X 11 features, free xbox live gold, Direct to drive TosBox downloadable games, and finally Hdmi2 output cabable of 1810ip and backwards compatable with Hdmi.
