IMO microsoft shouldnt have to drop their price, they got a pretty fair pricing going there. plus they gave you 3 free years of warranty. if there is a drop, more power to the people that are going to buy it. if not i wouldnt complain about it cuz the pricing is pretty fair.Screamin_EaGLes
I my self would definetly love a price drop :D, idk maybe microsoft might do it, especially if the PS3 gets a price drop (already) I knowmicrosoft still want the PS3 to be known as the "exspensive one" so i'm sure they will probably drop the elite to $400, premium to$350-$300, and Core to $250-or just get rid of it... thats just what i think
I don't think it will happen. With Peter Moore's recent announcement, MS is going to need the money to soak up the 1.05 billion dollar blow that they will take. Besides, it is not like the PS3 is going to get to the same price as the 360, even with a price drop.comthitnuong
thats a good point...
Before the 3 year warranty extension announcment, I would have said, yes definitely.
Now, I am not so sure. A $1 billion hit is a big hit even for a company as big as MS. Bringing in a price cut will increase their loses even more. They will want to match a price drop from Sony, so who knows.
well if sony drops the price i dont think microsoft will quickly drop the price for the 360, there guna wait it out and see if its even necessary
Yeah, there will be a drop but not a $100 drop. If I had to guess, I'd say $50 at most for all three SKUs.
Think about it, it would make no sense for them to drop the Core below the Wii's price.
Microsoft doesn't need to drop it's price. Even is Sony drops the PS3 to $499 the 360 will still be cheaper. Microsoft is in the top spot right now. All they need to do is continue giving us great software, good updates to Xbox Live, and for now...that's about it. Don't get me wrong, they will monitor what Sony is doing, but a price drop is not necessary right now. If Sony's price drop leads to a huge spike in sales, then perhaps Microsoft will drop it, but they have Live, great software, a good price, and a little game called Halo 3 to take them through the rest of 07.nyc05
yea, the 360 will be 99 dollars cheaper, only 10 dollars if u count the elite, and thats not much when you count the price of the wi-fi adapter, and the HD-DVD, to be up to par with the PS3

I know that the 360 is better then the ps3, i don't like the ps3, and yes the 360 has an amazing online interface... i don't care about the HD-DVD, but look how cheap the wii is... definetly not over priced... i believe the microsoft could have easily put in wi-fi... it probably only costs them about 20 buck to make those wi-fi adapters but they're out their selling it for 100 bucks, and they know that some people 360 are nowhere near their router and will have to buy the adapter

yea, maybe like a yearbefore the 360 came out because the technology was so new,but it definetly does not cost microsoft to 700 dollars right now, probably about 300...microsoft is making money out of every 360 they sell, the manufacturing price goes down after a while, which is one reason why there are price drops... and microsoft would definetly not lose 300 dollars for every 360 they sold! are you crazy? plus if the 360 had a 700 dollar manufacturing price, i'm sure the 360 would have absoulutly NO problems...

But you're taking into account "bells and whistles" that are not needed to enjoy gaming on the Xbox 360. All of those things are great, but they are optional. Whether or not it's more expensive to "pimp out" your 360 isn't debatable...it is much more expensive to make it match the PS3 feature for feature, but still those upgrades are not necessary in order to play games, and in the end, that's what it's all about.
