do you think there should be a price drop?

Not really of the system but the game price. I think if it was dropped to $50 it would generate more purchases because i know for some when they see the $60 it is closing in on $100 so they would more rather rent the game.

Your topic title makes me think that you mean the console itself, which in my opinion is no. But once you read your (very confusing) post, I disagree with you even more than before. Games aren't cheap to make. Killzone 2 on *cough* the competitor's console cost +$20 million to make. I'm guessing you want a price-drop because you're unemployed and don't have much disposable income, but that's why being on a site like GameSpot is even more valuable; plenty of info on games so you can make an informed decision when you buy a game.

Games cost money to make and the more advanced they get the tougher they are to make which drives the cost up. I think the price is fine.

Yes game prices should drop to a standard of $50 per game. The great 360 games are no better than the great Wii games that cost $50, so I don't see what the extra ten bucks is for.

It depends. I don't think the price should be lower at launch, but I do think the price should go down after a few months faster than it does. A year after Gears of War came out it was still $60!!! That's crazy!

I got my copy of that game for $40 and before the awful "platinum hits" edition came out.

I don't really see the need. The price of games falls so quickly that if you don't want to pay full price, just wait a month or two and the price falls. It is very rare for games to hold their price for longer than 3 months - Gears 1 and COD4 managed it, but more recent games like Prince of Persia, Far Cry 2, Midnight Club can already be bought new for less than half price

Two words: used games. Seriously, I got Halo 3 for 35 dollars used and the disc had no scratches on it. It was like new.

Edit: I just realized that you were talking about the games. No way! Even though I can't afford more than 2 at a time, no way! Why?
