It wouldn't stop me from buying the game, and would actually add to the realism of the environments. However, it would be pretty disturbing to kill a bunch of children. I think R* has a right to put children in, though they probably shouldn't.

You could argue that showing Jews getting killed in the Holocaust as part of the gameplay in a WWII game would add realism, but is it ethical? No. That's the real question we need to ask.

You could argue that child pornography is ok as long as its made for adults based on your premise. The real issue is protecting children against the promotion of illegal activity towards them. Digital imitation of a minor while also imitating unlawful action towards them is not an exception from the law. Adults in general are not exempted from the law just because they're older obviously. While violent movies may have children in them, rarely is the clear visual depiction of a child beingmurdered shown. In GTA this could be done a million times in a million ways and with no censorship. It would never get passed, especially since games are not just about watching, but also committing the act. They would have to be used in a way where you as the player couldn't murder yourself in the gameplay.

While R* has a right to, if they did It would just mean more political/social backlash. Thus, making it harder for me to purchase things I am legally entitled to. If they did, I wouldn't be disturbed by it. I would make an attempt not to kill them thoughRelived

Political backlash means more media coverage, meaning more sales. I don't think they should put children in the game as it really adds nothing to the gameplay element and is completely not necessary.

And to those who says it is "immoral" to put children in the game does that mean it is okay to kill adults, but not children? That would be pretty stupid. It is imoral either way.

The reason why I brought up child pornography as an example is because it holds some of the same relevance as to protecting the depiction of minors. You have to understand that laws work on precedent, rulings effect how other things are conducting which may not seem relevant at first glance. So its really not out there actually. I'm not against having children as characters such as for cutscene and effecting the story. What I'm contending is having children as NPCs that can walk streets and be shot at, run over, etc. I mean cmon guys, wouldn't you be offended if you saw a child get shot on television? We shouldn't promote that in a game. As I stated before, neither violence nor sex should be promoted to minors. You can't make an exception to just one. Violence is just as bad. While it is immoral to do violence in general, for entertainment purposes it is not acceptable to use minors in replacement of adults. To have the motive that you want to it be more "realistic" is to question how sane you are? I'm mean think about it, why would you desire to be able to kill kids to make it more realistic?

You could say that children deserve equal representation in buying the games they want regardless of content, based on your argument. GTA is an M rated game to be played by adults so equal age representation has no bearing.

Well, then at least theyre not shooting real kids. Ive never really seen it as a big deal to be honest. It adds to realism and if that gives people theyre jollys than whos to say they won't try to find another sadistic way?

Oh really? How about adding gameplay to rape women, do hate crimes, and committ genocide? The added realism would justifyit right? No, because its wrong to put in a game just like shooting kids. And just because people find it fun to do something thatisn't allowed in a game doesn't justify it either. Games are not made so that psychotics can channell their craziness into something. There's something else for that, its called either jail or a psychiatric ward.

I understand videogames are meant for unwinding and pretending to be someone else, but wouldn't it be easier to simply paint some cardboard boxes like children and then shooting them with an airsoft gun? if you have talent, you can also imiate the cries and screams of the suffering younglings...

I literally LOL'd. This is a perfect example of what games like GTA is doing to the public and the public youth. This is why I never buy games like this.

I doubt the game would even get an AO rating. It would probably get a flatout ban in the country.AOs areusually for extreme levels of violence or sexuality, but there arecertain types of contentyou just can't touch period and that includes killing children as gameplay.There are so many consequences I can't even list all of them including domestic abuse.

how many games let u directly kill childern? none. and bioshock doesnt count because you only harvest them.

but i think its just stupid, nothing wrong with killing children in a video game. as if its that much differnt than killing an adult...
