I know the feeling. Some of the achievements online are so time consuming however, its a great selling tool for game makers and MS because it gets people online and spending more money.
Nope, or if they have to, it should be 800 single player/200 online. Max. Or possibly 250 online.death1505921
I agreeÂ
[QUOTE="CaUs3"]Those kept me coming back but there are some like GRAW 1 that are almost impossible. I know, does anyone remember that achievement in Quake"Reach the top ten on the all time leader boards" WTF!yes keep online nice and fresh
Gears for example 100 kills for each gun makes people keep comming back like me :)

Oh heck yes! I spent my whole 2006 summer wasting my life trying to get achievements. And i must say its a disease since i got fat and had to buy a new 360 cuz i played my old one 24 hrs. But i love achievements, hearing it watching it pop up, its just all so priceless!zerosolja***cough no life cough***
I made a thread on this a little while ago, and 2/3 agreed with me that online/offline should be at least 500/500 or 600 for offline. Single player is the most important thing IMO. But oh well, if the game is good I'll buy it :)
I'm just not a big Live fan myself. I hate getting owned almost every single time, although I can beat the game on hard. I HATE it!
i dont give a damn about achievements. do you think i care if some little snot spent 300 hrs on perfect dark zero trying to get 1000 headshots?
Â
or if you found the secret vials in far cry? no. no i do not. unless theres some reward for getting the achievements (like in dead rising) that unlocks extra weapons or costumes or levels etc.
i dont care about achievements. I hate the fact that developers try and add "replay value" by just throwing a bunch of dumbass achievements.
Â
Â
Now if the score or points could be exchanged for like microsoft points. i.e. you get a hard achievement you get like 200 microsoft points. points you could use on the market if you dont feel like spending money.
Then by all means! the achievements would be worth something then! i dont care about bragging rights to a 15 yr old.Â
I enjoy online achievement points, but if there to hard or very time comsuming i won't do them.
For example, getting the General Achievement in Call of Duty 3. That achievement is very time comsuming, and i just lose interest after getting the Captin Achievement.
i hate single player
the only reason i beat gears on single player is for the gears gamer picture and the gamerscore

Uh, then why are you playing Oblivion?
I don't mind online achievements so much as I do co-op achievements. Mostly because my friends don't have some of the games I have like Crackdown and nobody will ever let me join there game... so yea they could do without co-op achievements IMO.....drummer13uswhenever i play crackdown alot of ppl wanna join my game and i accept most
I like it, makes no difference to me online or offline. It's good in that you can see just how experienced someone is in the game by looking at their achievements.Â
ag1002
Um I think you will find playing them in real life is the only good test .... i have loads of acheivement points and I still suck online LOL
I find that online achievements ruin the online experience a lot of times. People spend more time trying to get useless achievements then actually playing for fun/to win. How many times have you joined a match in Gears and heard someone say something like "If you touch the grenades I'm quitting because I'm trying to get the achievement. I don't care if we win". How many times have you heard someone say "I can't wait to I am done with this  because I don't even like the game".

I agreeÂ
That makes 3. Between 200-250 on-line should be max. Achievements can be hard, but they have to be interesting. There isn't anything fun about trying to play an honest game with people that ruin it just because they are so achievement focused it brings down the gameplay and overall experience. Some are really fun to chase, but there are some that truly are achievements I'll never go for because they are more work than fun and I value the gametime I have too much. It would be a different story for some if I had more time.
I actually haven't played any games on-line for at least a month because of the community and just trying to exploit everything.
Well I know achievements don't really do anything and are just fun to get to see the little notification at the bottom of the screen. But I am noticing more and more games are coming out with ridicules hard to get online achievements. Do you think this is a good idea? Not to mention all the 360 owners that don't have XBLJtodaDIt only matters if you care about points or if you don't have online play.
