The pics I've seen look amazing. I also think Mass Efffect will make Gears look ugly. (But Gears will always be gorgeous in my book. I still think Halo 1 looks great.)
The best looking game on the planet will never make Gears look ugly, Gears will always look great no matter how much better other games look in the future.
Dumb question! They both use the same graphic engine so they're both gonna look similar. UT3 may look a little better but it won't look that different and it definetly won't make Gears look ugly.
I hope it blows the visuals on gears out of the water. It looks much more colorful from the screenshots, and you can see lots of great particle effects and lighting.
Yes, it will, considering it's being release a year later and the 360's graphical capabilities have not been fully realized yet. Engines aren't static and have room for improvement.

The graphics probably won't be much better, they're using the Unreal Engine 3, sure it can be tweaked and all but they probably won't be that much better then Gears of War if at all.
I vote for they will be equal. Same engine and same company as previously posted. However, if anything UT3 might look better than Gears because it is newer.
In oxm they say its "gears-plus" graphics..and they say that UT3 makes gears look ugly because mainly of the enviorment like the architecture and epics describes it as "art Nouveu meets bizarre alien shapes...H.r. geiger meets alfons mucha. youll just fine it creepy/cool" but it only runs at 30 frames per second...so well have to see when it comes out or some videos..
