hope they dont cause if they do xbox live would suck as it would be overall laggy as in games wouldnt have dedicated servers they would probaly stop making arcade games, demos, and game videos and some other stuff wouldnt be available to us..

No, I don't think so.... Why make it free when so many people are using the service every year? They are making a huge profit... making it free would make xbox users happier, but it wouldn't benefit them in anyway. Having said that, it MAY (just may) increase the 360 sales by a BIT, that wouldn't make them as much money as the amount of people paying for xbox live.
No. With all the success they've had charging 50 bucks a year, I don't think they'd get rid of the price. Besides, its not that big of a deal. Less then 5 bucks a month hardly makes an impact on any one person. Any little kid can clean their house for a day a month and probably get 5 bucks from their parents for it, assuming they don't do a crappy job.
Because the money we pay, (come on, $50 bucks isn't that bad, it's cheaper than a game) is what they use to make live good like have the demos, the videos, arcade games, and all the other stuff they do to make sure it functions properly, I think $50 is a good price for a service that lets us access the best in online console gaming.

We also have demos, but not GREAT arcade games, and videos, you just have the no lag and the arcade games, and people putting their own games, which I think is the bet thing ever created...PS3 has home, something useless...for now, until it is really released, it's just a beta...
Edit: do not get confused, we have videos, not arcade games, do not get confused that you thought we don't videos/arcade games; understood.
I like all of the features that XBL has. Not to mention its probably the most reliable online services for consoles. Not to mention its really easy to get new content for your games via downloadables. I didn't get an online service untill I got my 360. But now I don't know if i could do without one on any console. PS3, 360, or Wii/ Besides $50 bucks for a year is no big deal. I pay mine around new years and then I forget about it for almost 12 months.
Everywhere is free, pc games, wifi, wii, ps3. Its good imo but atleast add extra features such as dedicated servers and such. Why pay for something when you can get it cheaper somewhere else. I don't think microsoft will ever be free unless they lose profit which is highly unlikely tho.
I highly doubt it because i dont think microsoft will stop something that is giving them so much money, also i dont think many people complain about XBL monthly prices
That's a multi billion dollar company, they don't need $50 a year to keep there service up to date. They just want to make as much money as they can form suckers who are willing to pay for it.

Have you played on PSN? Most games lag unless your playing with people you know locally.
PSN doesn't lag. It depends on your connection just like any other server. And yes, I've played both Xbox and Playstation Online. He's right, PSN isn't bad at all. But will Xbox Live ever be free? I don't think so.
