I was just wondering if people are using this nowand how often are they're using it. I haven't used it because I don't have anyone on my Windows Live Messenger buddy list. But I plan to ask around and see if any of my buddies with or without 360s if they have Windows Live Messenger and I'll add em.

I also got this email from Microsoft:

Dear Microsoft Connect user,

We sent you an e-mail in mid-May with details about an update to your Microsoft Connect profile. Now that the update is complete, we would like to ask you to verify your Profile on Microsoft Connect.

You still have time to update your profile before the update becomes required and our system will prompt you to update it. Please either click on the profile reminder link on the left navigation menu or select Manage My Connect Profile at the bottom of any web page.

If you have not updated your Microsoft Connect profile prior to July 23, 2007, you should expect the following when you visit and sign in to http://connect.microsoft.com on or after July 23, 2007:

1. We will present you with a Web page on which you will be asked to verify and update your profile information. After submitting this information, Microsoft Connect will use it as your profile information moving forward.

2. If you don't return to Microsoft Connect before July 23, 2008, Microsoft Connect will inactivate your account and we will be unable to contact you regarding your program participation. At any time after July 23, 2008, you can return to Microsoft Connect and re-activate your account by signing in with your Windows LiveID, and updating your profile.

Thank you for your help and patience during this process, and we look forward to continuing to serve you.

The Microsoft Connect Team

As a Microsoft Connect user, you are receiving this announcement about an update to your Microsoft Connect profile. Microsoft is committed to protecting your privacy. To learn more, please refer to the Microsoft Online Privacy Statement at http://privacy.microsoft.com/.

All of my friends have AIM, so MSN Messenger is pretty useless.

Initially, I did, but since I spend more time on my PC, I usually chat on my PC.

I would think that the Live Messenger access on the 360 isn't so much for the chatting (sure you can do that, and that qwerty keypad is coming out to supplement it), but more for letting your PC friends know that you're on the 360, and for inviting them to come to their 360 and play some games.

To answer your question you need to turn on your msn account through that email. After connecting your email You will need to setup sharing msn with your 360 in the msn menu options. You will then connect your 360 to your msn account through media connect. Media connect it what you use to stream certain types of files from your pc to your 360. Media connect, Zune and Windows media player 11 can stream things to your 360. If you can already stream files then you are already connected ;) Just stick to the first few steps.

I would but Microsoft never fixed that child account BS yet. Knowing what I know now. I never would have used the work around on launch day to get my Live working.

For the record. MSN (Windows Live Messenger)>>>>>>>>>>>AIM

Attention the like last 5 posters. You can use your keyboard through your usb ports on your 360. There are very cheap hookups for them at radioshack. When in game or the menu just push the Windows key(left\right of your space bar) + M. A menu will pop up that shows your current chat session and or opens up messages you are receiving. Push it again to close.

Not yet because of my stupid @$$ child account. I hope they change it in this fall update like they are saying they will. I do however use it a lot on my pc. It just so happens to be my favorite messenger and am really looking forward to using it on the 360.
