any version of xbox suffers from it. this new chips whatever does not eliminate it, it reduces the chances.

I've had my 360 Elite for about 7 month's. It has got it once, but this was only because the power plug wasn't in properly, it never happend again after that.

Every 360 that comes out will have a chance or RRoD, but what system doesn't have a chance at some kind of hardware failure. But the new chips MS have put out drastically change the chances of getting the RRoD.

i've had my Elite for 11months now and it has run perfectley fine as well as my friend who has an Elite, his works fine and he has had it 2-3 months longer than me. I've had a lot of friends w/ Pros get RRoD, i think 4 or 5 total.

Yes. The newer the model, the less likely you are to have issues. My Elite (purchased November 2007) just got an E74 error and had to be sent in. It's different than the RRoD, but I know people who have elites and have had that issue.

I wanted an Elite but I'm buying myself a 60gb pro for xmas, reason being is that I heard the CD drive doesn't scratch the disc as much and as it's a new version of the 360 it will be reliable, well hopefully anyway
