go to the search bar and type in achievements, viola there's you answer. You'll even find topics in there like "does anyone care about achievement points?". Hope that helps.

you know I have 12360 and judging by your score I'd say we both do, a little

I do. I'm not a hardcore gamerscore-er though. I like the achievement system because it gives myself a bit of satisfaction for doing something, and show what I've done in games to people, and show that I'm not a noob. I think that's why the achievement system was implemented with the 360 anyway. StripClubDJ, having that kind of score only shows how much of a nerd you are.

I think he was being sarcastic people. He obviously does, enough to play the same game with two versions, and probably use saved games. I remember him being talked about a little while ago by reaching 100k. But whatever.

I really care about them, without them the 360 wouldn't have very high replay value.

I used to think they were cool new addition to games but now they get on my nerves.... With the Old Spice rewards thing it got on my nerves that I wanted to buy/rent a bad game like King Kong or TMNT just to get the easy points (I refuse to play a crappy game just for points).   Also I hate wanting to go around collecting all these stupid orbs in Crackdown or dumb tokens in Lost Planet just to get the points....  There are too many other good games to actually play than to waste my time doing obscure tasks that arent that fun.... 10,000 kills in Gears of War?  Stupid.   When am I gonna get the time to do that???  It seems to reward the people who are unemployed with no lives.... I  think I'd rather get "things" for doing acheivements in a game.... Like in Gears of war when you beat it in Insane you get a gamerpic you can show off.... Or if you beat a game you get a theme for that game unlocked off the disc or a set of gamerpics.... or you unlock a trailer for the game's upcoming sequel.... points are pointless.

ow yes. Achievements let me play games a lot longer. like 10000 kills in gears of war. or finishing insane to get achievements. It also shows how much experience you have with a game(most of the time). it's also very fun to compete with your friends with the achievements you have. the points themselfs means nothing to me, but the meaning behind that is cool. I miss achievements with a game that doesn't have them.

Yea, do you guys not relize that he is not StripClubDJ? He clearley made the gamespot account just to match that gamertag, then went and put it as his sig. Its like his thrid post and the first thing he mentions is about achivemnts. Yea...i doubt that he has anything more then 1000 points....and thats if he even has a xbox.

As long as the achievements are possible to a recreational gamer like myself, sure, I like achievement points. Right now, I have more achievement points than one of my friends and I needle him about it whenever possible. "You may be attending grad school, but I'm achieving!"

ummm not really, it lets people know how much other people play games...sometimes they can be fun to try and get, other times they arent all that fun and can usually be extreamly frustrating!!!

achievements are great, they add serious replay value to a game.  without them, crackdown would be one of hte all-time shortest lived games.

That's not the real stripclubdj. The real one uses a lot of exclamation marks and can't spell anything right.

I couldn't care less about Achievements. I have had a 360 since launch and only recently passed 4000. I just don't see what chasing them down does for me except take more time. My game time is limited so I'm more worried about the game experience than getting points that mean nothing above bragging rights.

Well, if you have intensely high gamerscores, it's either because 1. You're a launch owner, and you've just been hooked to it and you have enough money to get a new game every once in a while, good! or 2. You're somebody who got it last summer and you're lucky enough to have a truckload of money and you have half of the games. Thus you have such a high gamerscore, but have only completed the 300/1000 achievements that take only a few hours. Not good.

I was a launch owner, and YAY! 360 GOT STOLEN! Just replaced it, but guess what? I have a gamerscore that's only 6 times less than the last one. Why? Because I'm not rich.
