This may seem a noob thread but ive yet to connect to LIVE, but was wondering if anyone else started their match by unloading most of magazine of your main weapon (eg. lancer/shotgun), changing to the other primary weapon, and when confrontation ensues get the almost empty weapon out, reload, and have perfect reload for the fight? Works especially well with shotgun. Many others use this?

I have never heard of this manuever. It sounds like an intelligent move. I have always thought it was funny that when you use a good manuever that it angers other peolple so they call you a newb.
Yeah i was curious cause other ppl i know dont use it. I usually let off 4 shotgun shells which gives you 4 incase of emergency where you have no time to reload, and as soon as i see an opponent i reload while running at him, blow him to bits and scare the **** out of him at the same time. Works well in kamikazee situations like 3vs 1
People will call you a noob for everything besides just going in with shotgun/pistol/machine gun, unless you are going to chainsaw of course, or if you are host and they will just say HOST SHOTGUN. So yea, just get called a noob and have fun in this game:P.
Its not noobish its just smart others might call it noobish but who cares, you beat the crap out of em:P but I dont do it that often in the beginning but I do try to get some active reloads while reloading in the middle of a game or when its me vs1 one more left, then it can really make a difference:)
Noobs feast on the chainsaw as their main weapon, and shotgunners are just people that are boosting their kill count. But I can't really tell you what's noobish and what's not (in terms of Gears online techniques/strategies)
the shotgun is the ridicolous gun in that whole game anybody can use it and own , and if you really want to show them who owns try getting away from a shotgun whore and unleashing a chainsaw on them or break out your pistol and melee them, then shoot twice. only keep the shotgun if your host
