I am in the mood for a horror game and I want to play the Condemned series so I'm wondering if its still playable now? (yes I know it has not been very long but many things have changed since 2005)

I say go for it. However, I was always gameplay > graphics anyway so I may not be best person to ask. It was great fun when I played it a few years ago and I'm sure it's just as fun.
I would definitely play Condemned its a fun experience. However, with your question does it still hold up; no, graphically it looks pretty dated as this generation goes. I always thought that the gameplay trumps graphics, that's why I can go back and play retro games without losing much.
Condemned was a good game, not great, but definitely had some cool moments. On a side-note, it was a birthday gift to me from a group of students that Itaughta fewyears ago,so I thought that was cool.
i played the first condemned back when the 360 first came out and i loved every bit of it, i found it to be really scary. As for the 2nd one, i liked the first half of it because it felt like the first in terms of being scary but then the 2nd half just turns into a first person shooter because you always have guns which makes it easy just to blow away everyone but it was still a good game all in all. I say definetly play them, im sure they are pretty cheap to buy anywhere now too.
^ Thanks Essian and yes I have a pc and a ps3 i just want to play on my 360 also anyone play Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth if so how was it? and do you think it would hold up today?Sanghelio
If you are going to try and play Call of Cthulhu, you will need to be very VERY patient. I played it when it was first released and it can get really frustrating with a lot of trial and error. Being a huge fan of the writings of H.P. Lovecraft I was able to enjoy the game. But in all honesty I couldn't imagine trying to play through the game again.
As far as Condemned goes, I would try it out. If you can get past the dated graphics and rather simple gameplay you will probably enjoy it. The games atmosphere is dead on and really really creepy.
It had an additional layer of scary for me on a personal level though. I used to do a lot of what some would call "urban exploration". Going into and exploring old abandoned warehouses, slaughter houses, industrial buildings, mental institutions, underground service tunnels, ect. The locals in Condemned were so convincing that it sent chills up my spine because I knew what it was like to walk through places exactly like the ones in the game.
Condemned 1 is very much worth it. The sequel, not so much. I played it on the PC early last year and it is one of the only games the last 5 years or so that has made me jump on more than one occasion. Much scarier, at least from my view, than games like Dead Space. It will certainly have you on the edge of your seat, especially because of the atmosphere and tension the areas you will explore create.
Condemned: Will ALWAYS hold up in my book. Its what I consider and Xbox360 Classic, especially if you lump in the 2nd one along with it. The series is excellent, and nothing else quite compares. It is very cheap now and if your looking for a good atmospheric single player experience I would HIGHLY recommned it. Everyone i know who has played it has loved it.
HELL YES. Pick them both up. I still think the first looks fine. I still play them from time to time. They're excellent games and will always remain one of my favourites. They have such a creepy environment and are one of the best horror games ever, imo. I'm hoping they'll make a third.
I'm hoping they'll make a third.
