Not sure where that rumor came from... especially since Microsoft doesn't allow anyone to make a game that requires the HDD.

Why do people make things up? Obviously 360 games don't need an hard drive to play..but you wont be able to save or download stuff..and who wants to start all over everytime they turn their 360 off. UNLESS you got one of the newer 360 models that come with the 512mb memory built in.

There's a 360 game called final fantasy eleven. This game I believe CANNOT be played without a hdd. If I can, I would imagine it's not very fun without.

MMORPG requires HDD because they need to store new contents constantly. But for none-MMO games, you are not required to have a HDD. It will just be like Blue Dragon or Lost Oddyseey, 4 disc or more.magicalclick
theres no way they would make a game more than 4 discs :o thatd be crazy lol. but no u dont need a hdd just a memory card to save ur stuff or like the guy said above how the newer 360's have 512mb built in, although i didnt know that :P the hdd is only if u want to optionally install the game for shorter loading and texture popups. the only game i have installed is ninja gaiden sigma 2 on the ps3 and compared to ninja gaiden 2 on the xbox.. the install doesnt help much, loading is actually longer on ps3. but idk how things will be installing ff13 on 360

I was only making the point there is at least one 360 game that needs a hdd.

that is an MMO and was released on PS2, which used DVD. If it was a port from the previous gen, then you'd need a HDD simply for backwards compatibility of sorts.

a very rare exception if that's the case.

It's an MMO though, like you said. Those are the only possible exceptions, since there's too much info being processed to work w/o one.
