Tbh it does mine, I know for a fact if I didnt have a 360 my assignments would have been completed by now, I start doing my work then 10 minutes later I'll be upstiars on my 360! its winter here right now so I dont bother staying out for long periods compared to the summer where Im out from the moment I wake up and get home just before I fall asleep! so me being home more was supposed to be a chance to do assignments but with the 360 screaming to me I just dont get my work done!

I try to not let it interfere. But it often does.

@TC:

Apparently it interferes with your studies. Only one "m" in gaming.

For me, gaming has progressed throughout my education. In middle and high school I was always playing some type of video game and it did negatively effect my school work, but my parents would always step in to get me back on track. In college gaming definately played a part in a few subpar grades, but I'll just count that as something that was inevitable in college. In law school I had to take charge and I only ever had time to play over the few breaks we would get each year. Gaming can certainly be a vice for a lot of people, its all about priorities and time management, butyou can stillhave the best of both worlds.

Yup, same here. I've been gaming since I came out of the womb, but now that I'm nearing my late teens school is important all of a sudden? :P

Same here man. I'm not failing or anything, but I'm definitely not doing as well as I could be. Sometimes I just ditch class altogether just so I can get some gaming in. I know. I'm a nerd. I'm sure I'll be ditching a lot more once MW2 comes out. Can't wait.

It really shouldn't, all you need is good time management skills. I would game all the time when I was in school on multiple consoles and it in no way intefered with my studies.

In highschool it sometimes did, but I got my crappy average from flat out laziness for the most part. In college I got much better grades despite playing games all the time.

If it wasn't the 360, it'd be the TV or the radio. Girls and friends do it too.

I'm not in school anymore. Anways, I don't allow gaming to interfere with important things like spending time with my kids or going to work.

btw... The first semester in college is dangerous for gamers.

For those about to graduate from HS school and move into a campus dormitory, I'd highly recommend not taking your console with you. Don't even bring a PC. Get a low-end laptop that's sufficient enough to run some word program.

1. First semester is most dangerous because 18 year olds are out of the house for the first time and go crazy with partying and drinking. The first semester of college has the highest drop-out / fail-out rate. Just sayin that having your game machine around isn't going to help, especially when you wake up at 11am, don't have class until 2pm, and mom and dad aren't there to force you to go to class.

2. Your room mates are going to break your console. Chances are you will have 1, sometimes 3 room mates. And they'll all be playing your 360 without asking, and doing incosniderate things like leaving it on, tossing controllers, and breaking stuff. During dorm parties, someone is going to spill something on it, or you wake up the next morning and it's flat out been stolen.

3. You won't have much money or time to play video games anyways. Don't waste your future career and education just to play Call of Duty. Don't give up eating a good meal and settling for Top Ramen just to get Assassin's Creed 2. Defniately not worth it.

Anyways, it was hard giving up the Super Nintendo and Playstation when I went to college, but man I'm so glad I did. After 1 month, I totally didn't even care about video games anymore. My college room mate, a friend from High School, flunked out of college because he was playing Star Craft. When I tried to encourage him to stop playing Star Craft and go to Math class, he would get pissed. The video games got so bad. He stop going to class, would get mad whenever I tried to help him, we stopped being friends and enver spoke again, and we were the best friends for like 10 years before that.

So I'm just sayin, I love video games and all, but don't take it to college with you. You won't miss it after a while because you'll be learning new things and checkin out hot girls.

The more you know! I hope this was helpful to someone.

During the winter gaming interfers a lot. It's cold outside, it's nice and warm in my room, and i have a decesion to make. Play Borderlands, Or read 3 chapters of "To Kill a Mockingbird". Hmm, BORDERLANDS!!! Of course it interfers! Especially with a great year of games such as this year. Gaming effects my schoolwork more in the winter rather than the spring/fall though. I only game during the winter.

to kill a mockingbird is actually quite a good book, i used it in an English essay in my final year of HS. Brave New World on the other hand.... I think gaming really inteferes with study when you dislike what your doing, which when in highschool, was almost everything haha
