I'm gonna buy orange box in a few days, but I do remember that it had lag issues at launch. I've read of patches and stuff, but did they actually work? Question: Does TF2 still lag online? If it lags, when or all the time? This topic is to people that actually know what they're talking about.

I loaded up TF2 a few weeks ago and there was literally no-one else on. I was the only person, in the world, online in TF2 at that time. The online is dead. The Half-Life games and Portal are awesome and more than justify a purchase. If you're only getting it for TF2 I'd say forget it.

It's still all about the host. If his connection is good, you'll have a blast. If he's got a bad one you may as well quit.

I've never played any of the HL2 games for more than an hour or so at my friends house, so I was mainly thinking on it as an offline game. But damn, I thought that TF2 was a popular online game. I guess there are too many good online games to justify playing TF2 on the 360...

I had heard of the lag issues but only experienced them a couple of times, nothing major.

Had it on launch day and for a few weeks it was the best game I ever played. Soon though, every last person started playing as engineers and more or less took the fun out of it. I felt like the only person who wasn't one.

Yes, I know. But the thing is that I'm going to Finland to do my army duty for 6-12 months or so. During that time I wont have access to my gaming PC and probably not for live either. So thats why I'm interested to the offline part. EDIT: Spelling

Well if that's the case than The Orange Box will bring you lots of fun because of all the content you get for the price. 5 games in 1 is amazing.

TF2 was really bad on 360 IMO, especially when compared with the other online giants like Gears of war, Halo 3 and COD 4. But get The Orange Box without a doubt. Greatest deal ever! Half life 2 and Portal are amazing.

A couple times a week, I'll play Team Fortress for four or five hours straight. I can't put a figure on how many times I have a connection problem, because it hardly ever happens.

To people saying that no one plays the game:
Your Team Fortress experience represents a statistical anomaly. I play at least every other day, and the longest I've ever had to wait for a lobby to fill up was about 10 minutes. That's a bit, but again I stress that is the longest I've ever had to wait. On a normal evening, it takes a couple minutes to fill up a game. Furthermore, I only play in ranked matches; there's always more activity in player matches.
