Because in the end, money isnt everything.

It really is, though. Unless you're Mr. SurvivorMan, you will not survive without it. Money = life. And the more of it you have, the higher the quality of life that you can enjoy.
Its important to be smart with your money. Of course its nice to splurge on stuff once in a while, because there's no point in living life if you cant enjoy it once in a while, but there's a limit. And knowing how much I like video games, I definitely have to limit myself. Which means that I only buy a couple new games every year, and most I tend to wait a year or so til I can find a cheap used copy. I save hundreds of dollars doing this in the end, and I'm never short on something to play, so its a good deal for me.
I do the same thing with consoles sometimes. I got my Xbox(original) when I found one for $100. I always wanted one, but I already had a PS2, so couldn't justify spending $200+ for a new one. And I plan on buying a PS3 at some point, too, but I will wait a year or more til I can find a used one for around $150(and I'll pick up a couple old, used and cheap PS3 games along with it).
