alright so I my friend and I were playing a match of Halo3 when one of our "teammates" starts talking absolute trash, I wont go into detail but it was pretty bad. and I did mute them but I was so angry I filed a complaint and my xbox said that microsoft eould check in on it. My question is do they actually do anything about it or even check on it, And theanks for any help.

For Microsoft to do something they need more than one person to file a complaint on one person. Try to get a couple of your friends to file one to.

There is another thread around here where a guy said he has been banned twice. So I would say yes.

1 person reporting wont do anything but when you have a bunch of people reporting the guy will get banned or some sort of warning.

I have never gotten reported on and Ive never reported on anyone else, but I think if someone only gets reported on once that he is only given a warning or something like that. If more than one person reports on him then he would probably get in trouble. I think that I heard that if you get reported on a certain amount of times then you could get kicked off of XBOX Live

it's a big mystery as to what are the specifications one needs to do to ban someone on XBOX LIVE. I heard that it was 50 complaints. but it could also be a combination of number of complaints and the rep.

dont you guys rmmbr that banhammer scare where all your friends were asking you to give them good rep a few months back? maybe they do it on occasions. who knows.

I think it depends on teh severity of the compalint. If it's modding or cheating maybe it's less but if it's just trash talk and what not it maybe more.
