i dont have live... yet. what happens if i get the rrod? i realize my achievements and all will be lost without it. however, if i do get live and have to get a new 360 due to rrod, will my achievements transer onto my new 360 when i sign into live?
your gamertag is set out on the XBL server, you may loose your saves if the red rings say your harddrive is messed but RROD when you send it back to MS they ask you to keep your harddrive, im waiting on mine broke pretty fast played less than 10 times but yeah i love it.
I don't really think it would reset achievments cause you keep the same hardrive when u renew your 360 in RROD, im waiting for my 360 to get back and i still have all my achievments when i sign on to other xbox's

it has nothing to do with your harddrive....its saved on the xbl server

yes it does have to do with your hardrive, cause that's where your profile is saved. So if he got the RRoD he could just take his hardrive and put it on a different 360 and have everything be the same. Or if he gets live he could get a new Hardrive and just recover it. It is saved in both places.

well, regardless, thanks. i really wasnt sure so now i just gotta either figure out a way to wire my system up or convincemyself to shell out 100 bucks for an adaptor
