I'm still a bit confused about this too. Does it go into any "Line in" port on your pc?

Not completly sure but i think you can do that but in most speakers you can plug in the sound cable directly to the speakers.

Yes you can do this using the adapter that comes with the official VGA cable. I did it through the microphone port (you have to activate that port) and then you will have it on the speakers that are connected to your pc.

After a quick search on google (yea woah crazy thought of me to do that huh!) I found this:

The adaptor that comes with the MS VGA cables is a standard stero "Y" RCA to 1/8" (3.5mm) plug. All you have to do is connect the left (white) and right (red) RCA cables comming off the cable to the included adaptor. From there you plug it into a PC's line-in jack via the 1/8" male end of the adaptor. If you happen to have an audiobreakout box of some sort on your PC with free RCA plugs then you dont need the adaptor at all. Either way, you will need to have the PC on to use the soundcard as a pass thorugh for the speakers. Another option is to use a seperate stero or boombox with RCA line in. That way you can have audio without the need for the PC being on. A final option is the use of a home theater via the optic out on the end of the VGA cable. You will have to buy a standard optic cable for this (as it does not come with the cables), but the are pretty common and fairly cheap now.

Stealth-Gunner, the adaptor you are asking about would need a 1/8" male to male cord/adaptor to be plugged directly into a standard 1/8" line in jack. The adaptor you show would not be used by the vast majority of PC's as they have a female line in jack. Just use the cables included adaptor to plug it directly into the jack.

The only thing that should be noted about hooking up the included adaptor is will it fit. Let me explain. If you have a soundcard/motherboard that has the jacks very close together, and you use multiple jacks (say a mic, headphones and speakers), then the included adaptor may very well be to big to fit between the plugs. The included adaptor is about a 1/2" in thickness at the plastic base near the 1/8" male part of the plug. Not that big of a deal. You can either use a sharp knife to wittle away some of the plastic on the adaptor or buy a 1/8" male to female extension cord. The single cord will fit (as the jacks have just enough space for a normal cord) with the closely groupped cords and then you can plug the adaptor into the female end. Just dont try to force it into place as the metal plugs will bend, and or break out of the plastic ends causing a short in the line and maybe cause damage to the soundcard/motherboard. Use another adaptor or cord in tandum if you need to. They are only a few dollars and most radio shacks and walmarts sell them. There is no valid reason to risk forcing it into place and causing all sorts of problems just becausesomebody would spend a few minuts to run to the store to get what they needed to do it rightin the first place.
