Some shooters hav crap driving parts but games like Far Cry 2 and Halo 3 are both gud drivers and there both gud shooters!
Yeah i do. I know they are trying to add more gameplay elements and stuff but it just makes the game boring.

Completely agree. Half-Life 2 is another example of how to do it right.
But it's true that vehicle sections are often done very badly. Developers seem to think they're neccessary for variety/to break up the pace, but sometimes don't bother to put much effort into them.
I guess tho, if you're developing a FPS, it must be quite awkward to suddenly switch to designing a 3rd-person driving game.
Like in Gears of War, when you have that junker with the spotlight on it, and in The Bourne Conspiracy, with the whole escape thing trough Paris. The car's mechanics are bad, the graphics are bad and the controls are just unbearably static and oversensitive. I personally hate these parts of the game. Do you like them, or should they be banned from shooters?Jerryvanasperen
Like you I hate the driving parts of GoW. But other games do it right like other people have mentioned: Half Life 2, Halo 1+2+3,
The driving sequences are definately hard to nail down, but a few games have managed to pull them off. For instance, the Halo series may actually be better when you're in a vehicle as opposed to the standard combat (and that's saying something). Also, I thought Gears of War 2's tank and Brumak missions were a fun change of pace. Generally, however, I agree with you that they're not all that good, but I think they should still be in most shooters because it gives you change from the normal gameplay.
