DOOM launching tomorrow

Unlike most games that launch on Tuesdays, the long awaited DOOM is launching tomorrow on XOne. It will be fun wrapping up the week with this game.

DOOM games are some of the very first videogames I ever played on PC. Blockbuster, gory fps experiences, nothing fancy just point and shoot with big guns. I remember the level designs were not too shabby either with lots of secrets.

Other than having played the mp beta, I've been pretty much avoiding any kind of coverage for this game, so I'm getting stoked now for tomorrow I hope it delivers!

Anyone else looking forward to the game, and is it because you used to play it when you were younger, or just something you discovered recently?

Preordered digitally when it was first available, now i'm excited to play it.

Doom, was the first FPS I ever played, I even remember calling all FPS Doom-type for a couple years after that, with the evolution of the genre and todays trends, I feel ready to try something with an old school feel, since Wolfenstein TNO was such a refreshing experience in this era.

I will wait for a while before purchasing it, actually I was thinking about renting it but that possibility is now closed. Why ? well I purchased Doom 3 BFG edition maybe a year ago and boy, I don´t see what´s so great about Doom because it was a pretty boring experience. I played the Beta and it was not THAT great but still fun, my son loved it. Unfortunately for Doom it launched after UC4.

@doubalfa: Yeah same here....loved the new Wolfenstein and it will be fun seeing how DOOM has updated itself for today's gamers, while still hopefully retaining a little of that old school simple gameplay. The enemy designs look cool as well, but I haven't seen much of the game so its going to be fun for me seeing the rest first hand.

Still unsure whether to buy it because I have Homefront next week which looks more like my kinda game.

@hrt_rulz01: Maybe wait for reviews ? Looks like DOOM has an embargo until tomorrow but I'm not sure. Myself I dont care about the reviews for this game as I'd like to experience it firsthand.

On a side note, maybe let us know if you get a chance how Homefront turns out if you do happen to get it. I'm probably going to skip it unless it brings something fresh and distinct to the table. Too many games this month lol

I can always buy Doom today and return it next week for Homefront... but yeah I'm just worried I'll get bored of it.

And yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be getting Homefront (unless the reviews say otherwise). Will let you know what I think.

I wont be buying it myself, but here's a good video of a fellow Aussie carving one of Doom's enemies out of wood with only his chainsaws.

I just bought the game for the xbox one but I need to install the game to my harddrive I'm so excited and the only other doom I played was doom 3 and I know this game looks and feels different from doom 3 which is a good thing because it should appeal to the younger audience as well as older gamers.

Haha wow I'm loving it, only had time to play the first hour. Music is heart pounding. Gameplay is fun because when enemies become weak they glow, and if you melee them when they glow you do this brutal execution and that gives you health. Playing on default difficulty. Can't wait to play more tonight

Just what I expected, the momentum on that game is incredible, the music, and sound of at least the firs two weapons are both incredible, it's a mad dash! I'm playing on ultraviolence and it's kind of tough if you don't keep movin and mowing down your enemies, I hope the pace stays like this!

Yeah I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would... it's pretty fun so far. Whether it'll still be fun after 10 hours of campaign, that's the question...

@hrt_rulz01: Did you end up buying Homefront? If so, are the reviews blowing it out of proportion or is it as bad as they're saying?

Nah I didn't end up buying it. I decided to wait till they fix the bugs and it goes on sale.
