The 360 version of dragon age origins actually scored lower than the PC and PS3 version because of glitches and worse visuals. Overall a good review by KVO. What do you guys think?

[QUOTE="x-2tha-z"]I think I'm going to get the PC version.Cujo31Since this scored lower on the 360 I'm thinking about either the PC or the PS3, I need to add to my PS3 collection anyways!
Get it for the pc with a 360 controller XD
But was going to get this with my xbox, maybe i'll get a higher end pc instead:twisted:
To be honest I'm surprised other games haven't suffered the same fate of lower quality graphics due to the size of the DVD...I think this might be a trend within the closing years of this gen, but this is just speculation.

I just think that game devs have to stop being afraid of doing multiple DVD releases of games. If its a space issue then release the game on 2 discs with an option to install one of the discs to the harddrive and play using the other disc. I know not everyone has a harddrive, but I'm guessing the vast majority of people do, so they could just do what nintendo did with the N64 with the expansion pack and require the use of the HDD for certain bigger games.
In the end though I don't really care about some loss in texture quality. Amazing graphics on top of a game that has an amazing story and great gameplay is just gravy.
Not a good sign with Mass Effect 2 coming. I guess I can just hope they were focussing more on ME2 for the 360, but I doubt it.Next-Gen-Tec
Dragon Age was in developement a lot longer than ME2 so some of the graphics were a bit older. Some reviews, I think the international IGN ones, noted that, across all versions, the graphics looked better towards the end since those parts were probably created more recently.
I'm still getting it on the 360 even though I have a pc that can run it with good settings...I just have more fun playing games on a console than on the pc for some reason. I think that a lot of people will still end up getting it on the 360 rather than getting it on a comp that can't run it well and it actually looks worse than the console version lol.
Its better on PC IF you have an optimal rig and enough space. It could actually be so laggy or you would have to turn the graphics down so it could run smooth that it would look worse then the 360 version.
I noticed VERY little difference in graphical quality across PS3, 360 and PC. So in essence, this is getting added to my 360 library. Achievments FTW!!!
ill be getting the PS3 version of it, got too many 360 games anyway lol plus its a lil better from there review.
for those of us that do most of our gaming on the 360 and aren't going to go out and get a state of the art pc for the latest games anymore, I wonder if this game is worth it. Is there really that much of a difference? I'm not too much of a nitpicker although diablo when it was out for the pc, no way i would ever go near the console version.
Yeahm once graphics become the sole determining factor for pruchasing a game, you are lost.
This is BIOWARE people. they make great games, not pretty ones. Even on PC, this game is not the prettiest around...
yeah that's what i'm saying. A whole point because it doesn't look as nice? Graphics are so overrated these days and everything looks good. Aren't reviews supposed to be about how good a game is? So what gamespot's review says to me is the pc version is really nice, but the game itself isn't that good and is really reliant on graphics? Makes no sense. Why give it a downgraded score because it doesnt look as nice? It's the same game right? That's really all i care about. Most people cant run on high settings anyways on their pc.
The PC version has a better interface and camera angle options. According to the Gamespot review the console versions quest log can get to be problematic when it's filled up. Graphics shouldn't matter but they said it looks worse than Oblivion - that game is three years old. It's a little disappointing that the 360 version got the shaft from Bioware but 8.5 is still a great score so I'll still be getting the game.
I don't care about a few issues I'll install it to my Xbox 360 and enjoy it. Graphics don't really bother me the only thing that will suck is if it has some kind of glitches that mess the game up.

I'm with you. I wouldn't mind multi disc's either! We all had them and a recent game I got was Forza 3, one disc was an install and the other was the play disc, and Forza looks amazing! But I'll stick to my posting....devs seem lazy and try to push everything on one disc....I'm sure it doesn't take the much more work to spread it our a bit....The 360 version of dragon age origins actually scored lower than the PC and PS3 version because of glitches and worse visuals. I think that it doesn't matter what score a game gets because a review is just an opinion. I'm going to get the game because it looks fun to me. I also don't care about the graphics because to me, graphics don't make a game....gameplay does.
If I could get this game for PC I would, but I'm not gonna go running out spending a couple thousand on a good PC just so I can play this one game. I could care less about graphics, unless its like Pong graphics.
The only difference I like for the PC is that you can have more spells on the hotkeys. Or atleast it looked that way in the review.

i agree that graphics arent that important. but i think user interface is.Well I don't game on the computer at all so the 360 is my choice regardless. I own a PS3 but I want my Achievements. Only thing I play on the PS3 are exclusives and only Yovill on computer, lol.
"Yet while neither console version (of Dragon Age Origins) looks as good as other RPGs on those systems like Oblivion and Fallout 3." Oblivion came out how long ago? 3 years? Its time for another Elder Scrolls title plz.
I was wondering if there was such a wide scoring difference because of the audience on the different platforms. People seem to play more shooters on the 360 and more RPGs on the PS3, which made me wonder if that's what created the scoring difference.
I'm not upgrading my PSU, video card, and breaking my warranty to play one game. I myself am not getting this til December, and if I have a PS3 by that time then I will buy it for the PS3. If not, then obviously I'll buy the 360 version.pc or you fail on this one
