So I've never played Dragon Age, but am a huge RPG fan. With the new Ultimate Edition getting ready to come out, I definitely thought about picking it up since it includes all of the DLC with it.

BUT my question is, how long did it take you to complete the ORIGINAL story line without any of the DLC? I'm just trying to figure out whether or not to buy the Ultimate Edition, or to buy the original for a discounted price and then pick up the DLC as the need arises. If it's gonna take me 30 hours of gameplay before I even get to DLC content, I may just wait. So what did you find to be your average time to beat the main storyline?

If your playing on normal and do a good bit of side quests then i would say 50 hours at least without any DLC. Its pretty beefy game.

Sorry if I was confusing. What I was trying to say was that if the original story line would take me 30+ hours, then I would wait to get the DLC until later, after I completed the main line. However, if it was like a 15 hour play through, I would go ahead and pick up the Ultimate to have the DLC ready when I want it. Does that make sense now? I feel like it doesn't but I don't know :?

You should always take your time and not rush through an RPG but if you rushed probably around 30 hours give or take.

On the PC version (with the emphasis on pausing and the harder difficulty settings), it took me about 60-70 hours to do everything. So...yes, it'll definitely take you more than 30 hours, assuming you want to tackle side-quests and things.

I don't feel like i've put much of a dent in the storyline, and i'm about 15+ hours in (i think). Brilliant game.

First time it'll probably take you 40 to 50 hours. Its a good game I'd definetly recommend buying it.

It is a very long game, no dlc included but tbh you should really get the ultimate edition, it will save you money in the long run :)
