your level 21 and you just asked that? dude whats wrong with you. of course. No 360 game would fit on a single layered dvd even with compression. So yes, yes the 360 has dual layered disks.ryanduvallI don't have a next-gen console yet, the reason I asked was because GTA IV might be more than one city. A.K.A Vice City and maybe San Andreas. Would that fit?
san andreas used a dual layer disk. San andreas also filled 2/3 of a dual layered disk. so I doubt that Rockstar would even attempt to add another city onto the GTA IV disk. But they might put it on the marketplace which would be cool.ryanduvallBut that was on ps2 and xbox, this is 360 we are talking here. What is the largest amount of space you can have on a 360 disc?
it doesnt matter. Ps2, xbox, and xbox 360 all use the same disks, which are DVD's. So, a ps2 disk an xbox disk and an xbox 360 disk all have the same amount of storage or space (about 9.4 gigs)ryanduvall
Are you telling me there is no difference between a DVD and a HDVD?

Uhhh, GTA: San Andreas was not dual-layered, it was just single.Â

The game is only 2.9GB

This statement is not correct and Oblivion uses duel layered maybe Enchanted Arms thats about it
[QUOTE="pdevil21"]They should have made GTA IV a PS3 exclusive.....DanoldThats not a good way to make friends on this forum.
I have an Xbox 360, the only reason I said that is because on the PS3 they would probably be able to make five San Andreas size cities plus country. On the Xbox 360 they are going to be pushing one or two. Xbox 360 is seriously dampering GTA IV's potintial. If they would have stuck with PS3 only, they could have all the creative freedom they want and not have to worry about fitting it on a disc.

The disc size will not effect the game, compression is getting better and better, Saints Row and Oblivion fit onto one disk no problem, the same will be for GTA4, Rockstar would not go ahead if they thought a disk size would be a problem.Â

How? A quadruple-layered disc? What the hell are you talking about, GTA4 will be big no doubt but a DVD can fit a hell of a lot of stuff, you just are thinking about it in the wrong way, sounds to me like you have been brainwashed by Blu Ray. I just want to know, could it handle a game 5 times as large as San Andreas? Well a DVD (not dual-layered) has about five times the space of the CDs used to store last-gen games. A dual-layered disc is twice the size of a DVD. So that's like 10 times the space. You should be able to figure the rest out yourself.[QUOTE="pdevil21"]They should have made GTA IV a PS3 exclusive.....FUBAR24ummm....noyea ps3 bites $700 for a stupid black box that has like 1 more transistor and no rumble on controlers ps3 bites

AND ANOTHER THING thats alot of quotes :oÂ
And it could handle a game 5 times as large as San Andreas with GTA IV graphics right? I assumed that's what I was asking.....Â
Yes it could handle a game 5 times the size of San Andreas, that game is old with low res textures, it wouldnt be a problem.Â

Â
san andreas was not on a dual layer discÂ
If the game does use more than one disc:
I'd like to see the option of installing game content on the hard drive so that hard drive owners can take advantage. People who don't own hard drives would have to run off discs (and swap occasionally), but hard drive owners could just play with one disc in the drive and run the rest of the content off the hard drive like PC gamers do. This is a pretty common option in a lot of PC games. I don't see why it wouldn't be possible in 360 games.
