I simply put the three-sexy in the other room...hehe....and now I can't hear it. The wireless controllers have more than enough signal to work flawlessly with it in the other room with no lag whatsoever. I simply ran the component cables though the wall into the adjacent room which happen to be our spare bed room and where our computer is located. Worked great!!!

However, eliminating one noisey problem caused something else to get louder.... my wife. She started screaming at me because the damn thing was so loud when I fired up gears and the dvd drive spun up. She was on the computer (same room I put the xbox in) trying to write a paper for school. I thought she was going to tear my head off. She laid down the law and told me to get "that damn thing out of here"...hehe.

I can't win!!!! I guess I'll put it back where I originally had it and deal with the mind numbing noise.

Um, if yours is that loud than you should have it replaced. I can't even hear mine when I'm playing a game and it's like 2 feet from me. Oh, and dude...you're whipped.

Mine is loud, got that way when I downloaded the gears update. Its not the humming of the drive the gets me but its this annoying little squeak that you can hear during a slow part in a game (eg RB6V when you are trying to sneak around). Right now my setup forces me to be really close to the 360 but does anyone know how hard it is to swap a drive? Can MS do it for an actual labor-based rate instead of "all repairs 140 bucks"

Recently the debugging boxes got a firmware update to slow down the drives a bit, as a result making them quieter. Rumor has it that Microsoft will be releasing the same firmware update to the public very soon.

I have a feeling you won't have to worry about that lol.

As for the "Kravyn81", WTF is up with "hehe"? I am shocked that you even have a wife if you laugh like that!

P.S. The 360 is loud as f*** and those who deny it are either #1 deaf, #2 in denial or #3 fkn retarded! I think it's #3? (Just a hunch.)

So let me get this straight - your Xbox 360 is too loud so you decided to put it beside your computer and play while your your wife is writing a paper for school on the computer so that you can play your video games without the noise?

Ummm...you deserve to get yelled at.

I can't believe it bothered you that much.  I have surround sound so I don't ever even notice mine.

I've got surround sound too but the noise is still over bearing the noise this sucker makes.
