Here is the issue. I did see some posts about similar occurrences with others but there was no explanation from anyone. I have the Mass Effect 3 disk in the Xbox 360 Slim. Game is fully installed to the hard drive. Disk has not been played for one hour after box was turned on while I played an Arcade game. Exit through menu selection and choose to turn off the console. No dowoads are being done in the background. The feature to keep downloading when off is disabled as well. Result: immediately after the console is told to shut down. The signal stops but the center green light on the off button blinks green. When it does that the disk drive accelerates and spins loudly at full speed. This is the type of fast spinning which is the loud type. I waited for one minute thinking it is some sort of check, but even after a minute it did not stop. The only way to stop this is to press the eject button as the power button does not respond to turn this spinning off right after I sent the shut down command. If anyone knows anything about this please tell me what is happening. This does not happen with every game either. So far I only saw it happen with MW3 and ME3 games in the drive.

Were you turning the system off with the disc still in the tray?

Turn of the setting for completing downloads before shutting down. (Even if you don't have any downloads, it still does this) Or just double tap the power button.
