My Xbox 360 Elite just ran into E68-at least once-I rebooted and it was fine-do you think dumping cache would help?

No one's replied yet?

Hmph, maybe I can shed some light. With my experience of an E68, it's basically never been a permanent thing, usually it means an insufficient powersupply, but if you get a message telling you something about the Harddrive, this is most likely a very rare occurance that has to do with a conflict in information relaying from your Xbox Micros, to your HDD boot sequence. Common cures can be, "1: Search for damaged save-game files" "2: While the Xbox is powered on "W/OUT" the HDD, connect the HDD." This will automatically reboot your Xbox. If that doesn't work, "While you have the E68 error, try removing the HDD, this will also reboot your box.. I assure you, no damage will come from this..

If you are able to boot the xbox with the HDD atached, go into your system blade, access Memory, highlite HardDrive, and press (Y) for device options, from this screen press the following sequence, [X, X] [LB,RB] [X,X]. This will bring up a blade asking you if you wish to reformat the HDD, do so.

This is commonly known as the Cache dump, but it does much more than that. Aside from removing localized information, it is known to remove all your updates, besides the Concole dashboard one.. but this is a good thing, because sometimes Title updates have been known to conflict, causing this issue..

It's rare indeed, but I hope this helps.. if not, try removing the plastic covering that your HDD sits on when connected, "reccomend doing this on it's side."

Your friend on the inside
