Okay, so you put the game on the hard drive, but you still have to have the game in the disc tray...wow, useless. I don't mind the 360 making all that noise anymore, I am used to it.

well if you think about it it stips you from borrowing a friends game and just loading it onto your xbox. there is logic behind it...

yeah but better to have that system than not be able to rent games or sell your old ones (which they would immediately crack down on)

useless?? lol ppl have to wine about everything???
faster loading times??? isnt that a big boost??? and i bet by the dis tray does not need to spin meaning the console would be consuming less power ata given time?? less chances of RROD?? yes think positive before whining :):)

Hey, just a thought here. Won't this disc still have to spin in order for the 360 to read the thing? Otherwise people will just put in any random disc that they feel like, as the laser can't read the disc if it isn't spinning. So, I think the entire thing is defeating the purpose; they want to implement this, they need to implement a sort of PC code sort of thing, and the rental places won't give you the code, so you can't get it there, and it only works for one Xbox to save and play from the hard drive. This way, you can still loan your friend the game, but they can't keep it. And, in case you're getting a new one, if you delete the game for your hard drive, then it automatically updates to the web and the code works for one more console. This way it sort of manages itself, and makes the whole thing much more useful.

Okay, let's see:

Faster loading times with less noise,

OR

Save me some hard drive space for other things and have the old, now bearable, noise of before and live with those pesky, super mega-long-beastly load times we've never seen before.

Hmmm, I don't even have enough hard drive space as it is and I certainly don't want to spend upwards to $150 on the inevitable 60 GB hard drive, which is probably part of the reason why they released the 60GB 360.

Less chance of RROD? What the hell do you know about how RRODs happen? Less power consumption...do you actually care?

And I obviously understand that you have to have the game for verification purposes but the process will probably be too extensive and time-consuming having to install the game, which is around 9GB, onto your hard drive. And even then how many games can you actually fit on the 20 GB hard drive? 2? I know people are not going to want to pay for the 60 GB hard drive so I guess too bad for them?

I guess you could also say that they don't have to use it, which is true, but still. They should have an online verification where you put in a barcode of some sort assigned to your game that allows you confirm your 360's ability to play the game without the software.

Faster load times and less noise? No, give me Monopoly on Xbox Live arcade and I'll be content with that being a big addition to the interface.
