My xbox got the E74 error. I just want to know If I should contact microsoft or the store where I bought it. Should the store replace or repair it or should I send it to microsoft. Thanks in advance

probably microsoft. or you could try looking in craigslist for people who do repairs for cheap. it's a simple repair, e74 is overheating, your xbox needs to be reflowed.

Actually I called the store, they'll do it free ( I hope ) or possibly replace it. I just want to know if anyone was in a similar situation and if it is a better idea to send it to microsoft or just let the electronic store repair it.

i had a 360 give me e74. i had it reflowed by a friend of mine, though i have no idea how he did it. it worked just fine afterward, but i still decided to get a new one recently, only because the reflow is not a permanent fix.

I'm hoping I don't get it again after the repair.
