Well, if anyone hasn't heard the news, EA is pulling the plug on a good number of their online games as of September I believe. Most of the games are their '06 sports titles like madden and tiger woods '06. However, some of their games aren't even a year old and while most of the games have new iterations, Fight Night Round 3 for the Xbox and PS2 do not. I have fight night round 3 for the 360 so this does not effect me but I can understand how this would piss me off. This whole thing is a ploy to get more money. I can't believe they would do something like this. Like I said, I have a 360 and I also have xbox live, how can they tell me that I have a game which is supposed to have online play but doesnt even though I pay 50 a year for that exact reason. Now they will try and force me and everyone else to buy the new versions of their games even though they put no effort into improving them.

On another note, did anyone notice just how bad the achievements are for Madden 08. You can basicly get all of them in a single game if you adjust the difficulty. How can you say you are achieving something by getting these at least last years madden took a little bit of effort to get the achievements. This years remind me of 06's easy achievements.

EA does suck in that regard. Also, I wanted to play Madden 03 for computer a while back and it doesn't work on XP without a patch, but you can't get the patch ANYWHERE on the internets. Their automatic update isn't hosted and no fan sites or anything have the patch.

If you're looking for a company that loves to make money and cares little about the quality of their games look no further than EA.

No, theres a big difference between making money by selling crap games and marketing the hell out of them and making games that are actually good and people buying them. Lets look at Halo series. First one was just an awesome game. Since it was awesome, tons of people bought it. Halo 2 comes down the road and the fans said they wanted x,y, and z. Bungie puts in x,y, but not z(z being online coop), and creates another awesome game. Not the same as halo 1 with new levels and updated graphics. They actually made A NEW GAME. Now Halo 3 is coming out and once again, bungie listens to the fans adds new features and creates A NEW GAME. Seeing my point.

EA makes the same game every year, doesnt add pretty much anything (even takes out stuff if you compare madden 06 for xbox to madden 07 for xbox 360. Then tons of people buy it just so they can have updated rosters and ratings. Most of the people that play madden definitely dont care about the graphics, why else would so many have gotten PS2's simply to play it. Then once everyone has bought it and theyve created the next iteration of the series, they cut online multiplayer, one of the main features, and try to make you buy the new one for another 60 bucks.

On the other side, bungie listens to its fans, creates a great new experience and hey, they havent cut halo 2's multiplayer and most likely never will as long as Xbox Live exists

Side Note - Does anyone else think they could just handle the roster update with a freakin microtransaction, Id have not problem payin $10 a year for the updated rosters and could really care less about any of the trivial features they add.

Oh I can, EA has always been the big "bully" of publishers and care much more about profits rather then customer satisfaction. Anyway, yeah EA is the devil..pretty much.

I was off and on with the Original Xbox gameplay and so I decided id get back on to Need For Speed Underground. Come to find out, they had cut off the internet play a while back. I was pissed, why would they do that! Years later, i have come to except the fact that EA is a crappy company with generic, neverchanging games.

The only good games with the EA logo on them are games made by other publishers like Dice's Battlefield. Back in the gamecube and N64 days I bought alot of EA games. I'm smarter now and only have one EA game in my whole collection. I will buy game made by them if they are original and good.

dude i know what you're talking about! EA makes crappy games such as Battlefield 2 modern combat for 360, though the multiplayer is fun, the SINGLE PLAY DEAR GOD ALMIGHTY it's soooo terrible! enemies shooting through walls and the ground, somehow spotting you across the FREAKIN MAP!! wtf EA....w..t....f....

The only EA games I buy are NCAA Football and Madden. I've been disapointed with Madden on the next gen consoles so far but I'm hoping 08 will be as good as it sounds. I've always been impressed with the NCAA series though.

I can't comment much on other EA games since I don't play them:?

If EA is so evil then why is everyone still getting their games... every year?

If you think EA is evil, you must be the same for getting their products.

yep... it's not EA's fault. It's the people who keep buying the same game over and over eacg year... If i was making game knowing that ppl would buy them regardless of the quality, i wouldn't kill myself trying to make it as good as i can..

Oh, they try, but instead of trying to make better games, they try to get rid of competition. EA was more concerned about getting rid of NFL 2k through legal stuff than actually trying to make a better football game
