So the other day I tried to catch a game of Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. I played an hour or so without anyone joining, so I decided to try and join another game. A quick run through the Join Game function brought up a name, but every time I tried to join it said the game is no longer available. My first thought was that they finally shut down the servers, but on the latest server update, it still only lists the PC version as having been shut down. Has anyone else been able to catch a game recently?

that is one reason i hate ea they shut down their servers every time i tried when i bought mercs2 it had no one on and nhl 11 shut down so you get wondering
Try finding a friend to play with, but that game is incredibly old. Not to mention, it was garbage when it came out anyway...so I don't see why you are surprised if no one plays it anymore or the servers were shut down.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is still in my top 3 favorite games this generation. And in all the years since the day it launched, I've rarely had touble finding a partner and never had such trouble connecting to someone else.
I have had exactly that problem. Not connecting to EA servers and game freezing at sign in stage. My family is unable to play too, under their own IDs, it appears that only I can get online at all!!!! Its really irritating, grrrr

This was a month ago and was the last time I tried the game, but I did still get the message saying "Connection to the EA servers successful." And like I mentioned a name and profile did appear when I selected Join Game, but I wasn't able to connect to the other player. I really don't know what the problem is.

It's still the only game I own where I can press a button and massive explosions just start magically falling from the sky. MORE GAMES NEED THAT!! hah hah.
