Have not played it, but I gave up on sports games a few years ago. Couldn't really see the sense in paying every year for the same thing with a few added features.
I'm sticking with 09 as well...I played 2010, and I just didn't feel that the few upgrades were worth the extra price... Madden 10 on the other hand was well worth the purchase.
They've slowed down the pace of the game and made it much more realistic. While it might take some time to adjust, the game is overall much better than 09 makes many much needed changes to the gameplay. I agree with the goalies being harder to score on though. I'm sure EA will put out an update in the next few weeks so don't worry about it.
i agree i think that it is a upgrade from last year. all of the new game modes and boosts they have for be a pro make it better. also i agree the goalies are hard as heck to score on and alot of bs goals go in but thats real hockey.

well u obviously dont play or havent tried the game since 09....its amazing now so much better than back then (ive played since nhl 94) now im currently loving 2010...and i loved 09 but they fixed tons for 2010 and added a lot of new gameplay modes...but i dont care if u dont buy it

nhl 2002 was horrible....infact, all nhl games between 2000-2005 sucked. 2K5 sparked life back into the nhl videogames, and ever since then its been getting better and better.
I don't know how long you have been playing for, but I originally felt the same as you do now. I hated NHL 10 but I gave it some time and figured out the new mechanics of this years game. I truly believe NHL 10 is a million times better than 09. Give it some time...I know its frustrating now but the game gets much easier to play and once you figure things out i.e the passing and defense schemes, etc. you will see the game speed up as well. I promise you I was blind about nhl 10 once, but now I can see. Be patient and you will change your view....I promise.

I've heard this from a lot of my buddies who bought it. I'll be getting it very soon, already sold NHL09.
