i just got my replacement 360 after getting RRoDed, and the MFD on the back of the console is 2007-11-07, now that means its either november 7th manufactured, or july 11th, if its july, then i just read it wrong, but if its november then microsoft is sly...since the premiums made after august all have HDMI slots on them...the one i got back doesnt.

The dates on the 360 are YYYY/MM/DD. I'm an American, but I prefer day and month the other way around (DD/MM).

It's probably a November 'manufactured' unit. All that means is that's when the faulty unit had components 'fixed'. Microsoft then put a new label on the back.

hmm that cant be it, my original had scuffs in certain places that i specifically remember, there arent any scuffs in this one, its a brand new console.

Although it could be a console manufactured earlier, with a more recent mfd sticker slapped on it.

If I had one with HDMI and had to send it in and got one without back I'd call and complain. Especially if I used the HDMI. Thats sort of a BS move.

Its the international date format, also known as the obvious date format.

It was made November 7th. Its YYYY/MM/DD, international format. American format is MM/DD/YYYY. I've never heard of anyone doing YYYY/DD/MM either so you just got screwed out of HDMI somehow.

Year/Month/Day it's how the rest of the World does it. So your replacement 360 was manufacutured November 7th, 2007. Only America does it Month/Day/Year. Microsoft is replacing every console that gets the 3 red rings of death with consoles made after October 2007.

Also, I think Microsoft probably has one of their plants still making non-HDMI 360s to replace the broken ones.

damn thats messed up if they have a plant that manufactures non-HDMI 360s, i already felt jipped as it was, not giving me a replacement unit with HDMI just sucks.

No, I read a report that unless you know alot of about TVs you can't tell the difference unless it's larger than 40inches.

wow you should definately call and complain cause that's not fair to just not have an HDMI port anymore. even if you don't need it now maybe in the future sometime you'll wish you had one. definately call and complain, not fair to you to be screwed out of something you should have
