Sometime ago I bought the GOTY edition of Oblivion for my PC, it wasn't a fantastic machine but it ran it to acceptable levels.

But that was a year ago (Maybe longer) and lately I've been craving some RPG actions, I saw that Elder scrolls was on Xbox live for download and all of the DLC as well. I wont buy it on Xbox live because I can get the GOTY xbox version for much cheaper, but I want to buy the other additional DLC.

I can't recall what happened to my PC version, I think I ended up giving it to a friend or something.

So let me ask you this, should I dish out the cast for this critically acclaimed game or is there something else that can settle my cravings. And how does the 360 version compare to the computer version, also remember my PC was... eh.

PS: Yes I already played the crap out ME2 and Dragon age.

If i remember correctly, Oblivion was a launch game(or close to it) on 360. I STILL booted it up 2 months ago to play it. That is a game worth your $$$. Something about the music in that game, ill never get it out of my head.

i personally didn't like it that much, I'd probly give it a 7.0/10 it gets boring fairly quick, and if you turn into a vampire then the game is absolutley terrible

the only reason vampirism is bad is because you can only walk around half of the time, and when you are walking around you have to suck peoples blood rather than doing quests and such

Thx guys, I got to lvl 30 in Fallout sometime ago, I think I'm burned out on that as well. But elder scrolls seems like it might revive some old memories of some good'ole fashion dungeon@$$ kicking.

Ok I just bought I on Amazon (used) but in good condition for $17. (Yes, GOTY)

Won't be till april until it gets here though... :( But hey I saved alot of dollars instead of having to buy the normal one for $30 and then the two expansions.

Can't wait until I can spend atleast several hours just customizing my character :D!

PS: Tell me, is the other DLC besides from Isles and knights of nine any good? I see one gives you a wizard's tower as a home and another gives you a chance to become a lord of a castle?... Sounds good to me.

If you are hankerin' for a good RPG, and you like Oblivion, you should definitely consider Fallout 3. Many people prefer it to Oblivion (including myself). COmbing around the ruins of DC is one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences this gen.

Personally, I would reccomend repurchasing the PC version and downloading a selection of mods, with the right choices you can make it a whole new game! :D Just a few mods that I had installed for TESIV, Wieldable torches (so you can use torches as a weapon), Darker nights (doesn't sound like much, but if you actually try it the difference from the regular game is incredible, it suddenly becomes far more immersive, for example, when you travel at night you HAVE to use a torch otherwise you literally cannot see whats in front of you, particularly in forests) this combines well with a simple aesthetic mod which adds lights in windows at nighttime. More gameplay mods include changes to how the law and order system works (more logical, if you kill all witnesses you lose your bounty, etc.), a bank (for items and money, iirc it even lets you earn interest on your savings) Also there are various mods to add new enemies and creatures to the game, some of these are really slick and look just as good as Bethesda's originals.

Buy it absolutely. It's absolutely worth the money. I've put more the 200 hours into a couple characters and you just can't get that kind of worth out of too many games these days. Especially when you consider that you could probably buy the goty edition for somewhere around 30 bucks.

Thanks for the info. Actually when I did have it still for the PC I did use a variety of mods, but I got tempted and used a bunch of the mods that made me OP. I was looking at the Xbox one and thought it would have better graphics and would keep me from going out of control with modding, I like to play the game by the rules and have limited self-control when it comes to cheating.

Most of the ones I listed are pretty well balanced, as long as you avoid excessive armour and weapon mods you rarely get OP as most gameplay mods make changes that increase the difficulty to balance out positive changes, also some of the larger mods let you control which parts you install so you can avoid most OP stuff, and the biggest mods like Mart's Monster Mod, Francescos and Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul are probably more likely to increase the challenge if anything. If you do stick with the PC version I can try and find a list of the mods, which were pretty balanced other than I think 1 mod that gave you crazy 7x damage multiplier for stealth archery kills  That said, it figures that if you are a skilled archer and can line up a shot from the safety of the shadows chances are you'd kill most enemies in 1, but yeah, it does feel a little cheap when you completely wtfpwn high level characters with your bow. I really want to play Oblivion now but I have upgraded and added hard drives since I last played so it'll take aggeeeeeesss to set up the game how I used to have it :(

Oblivion gave me a weird experience. I loved every bit of it. Did all the quests, then bought KON expansion pack - loved it. But then afterwards, I had no desire to replay it and got bored very very quickly. I can see why some would find this game very replayable but for me, I guess not. :(

If you can, get the PC version. Much, much, much better. If not, I guess get the 360 version.

You'll regret if you don't when in ten years everybody's still talikng about what a great game it was.
