I'm considering getting it, but doesn't it have some sort of updates you can download for it, and is it free or does it cost? Also, while I am asking, how is this game?

Yes there are many updates for this game unless your getting the game pf the year edition. The updates are free but most of the downloadable content is not free.

while most people liked it I did not. Everyone's always talking about how huge it is (100 hr+), but for me it was jist quantity without quality (didn't like graphics and gameplay too much-but I was playing it 2 years after it came out)-then again maybe just me

wow...well this is certainly a mixed bag of responces....lol

Anyways, um...yeah I wasn't so sure if i would like the gameplay myself, but like I watched some of the footage they showed on CHEAT! whenever they showed those episodes, and i got to thinking maybe it would be worth a look, but I dunno...

Plus I'm not sure that I will have time for a 100 Hr + game, with all of the other games I will be getting, and after I got Oblivion I would have to buy the Shivering Isle....so yeah, maybe I will put this game on the backburner for now. Thx for helping me decide that.

updates are free(bug fixes, patches etc) but if youre talking about additional contenct, youll have to pay for it, although I suggest you to play the game first for it is increadibly long

as for the game, its brilliant but not without its flaws, it can be difficult at times and the controls dont always work

Pretty much. Shallow, boring game. Lots of stuff to do. No reason to do any of it.

Yeah...I think I'll pass on it then. I shouldn't get a game unless it will be fun and worth my personal while. 100 hours, while i would like to enjoy every game i get enough to play them like that, sounds like a lot for a game I'm not even sure I want.

Go get it, best game ever.

The DLC costs, but teh GOTY edition comes with it all for $60, or you could pick up the origianl for about $20 somewhere.

And honeslty, it's plenty big with no DLC

Hmm...what sort of downloadable content does the game have? Are we talking like, special weapons or new quests or new game modes or what.

thers some useless junk like horse armour, but there is also stuff like the wizards tower (awesome, has tonnes of plants, bed, chests, enchanting facilities) mehrunes razor which is a new dungeon will good loot, and the cherry on top is shivering isles which is an entire new world seperate from the original one. A tonnes of new quests, new storying, new gear, its awesome

If you can't decide, rent it. If you like it then buy it. I guarantee you won't get too far into it with the time you have renting it, it's too big of a game. I've done almost all the faction quests (main quest, theives guild, fighters guild, mages guild, dark brotherhood, etc) and I've played it for over 70 hours. I haven't even gotten the DLC yet. Personally, I liked it, but you'll have to decide for yourself, everyone's taste is different.

You are absolutely right- the game sucked imo

sucked is a strong word- but it wasn't too great...

ES4: Oblivion is an awesome game, be forewarned though...you will loose your life to this game. That being said, it does get pretty dry around the 40 hour mark, thats when i stopped playing.
