I'm just curious if you think an elite controller would be worth picking up. Yes or no and why?

I think it's too pricey honestly (you waited all this time and it's still the same price), but a friend of mine got his for $78 and he likes it but is glad he didn't pay full price. I messed about with it, and while we all know it's a good controller, the issue is the price. I don't expect they will ever drop the price either, since they consider it a specialty item and although manufacturing prices go down, the consumers will keep paying the $150.

Some people swear by it because they love it, but with any pricey object, people also justify their purchases all the time (designer glasses, clothes, shoes, controllers, etc). It's tough to know them and how sincere they are being vs. the need to justify big spending. If you play casually, it may be something you avoid. It's best to consult someone you know and actually trust if possible, as I was able to do, and mess about with the controller.

For $150 Though? That kind of money could go towards buying a lot more games or even getting a second console! As of this writing an Xbone S is $250 ($100 more for an entire console/controller/game) as is a PS4 Bundle. The Wii U, 3DS, etc also come in at even a lower price.

Others are happy to pay the price for premium products though and if you have tons of money, all the games and consoles you could ever want, you may as well buy four Elite Controllers as well.

^ lol

Seriously i have thought about buying one numerous times because i can afford it, but i want to test one out first but have never had the chance to.

A lot of people will swear by it and say it's the best controller they've ever played with, so in the end it's up to you. Since you put forth the question i'd say you can afford it otherwise you wouldn't have asked.

Here's the first review i found from a google search and goes into great detail about the controller, maybe you should have a read and decide for yourself.

Not worth it unless you're a hardcore gamer who will actually use it all the time. It's expensive and not worth it if you're just casually gaming.

I personally didn't think it was worth the price... and there were also a couple of things I didn't like (ie. the paddles, and I found it a bit too heavy for my liking).

But it's obviously entirely an individual choice. It definitely is a quality piece of gear however.

I understand. More $$$ for games! Win/Win!

I feel you there.

I agree it's quality, and I wasn't in love with the paddles or dpad options either, but it was solid. The thing that nags me though, is like any controller it's going to go through the same wear and tear that would make me not want to use it or let others use it, and considering how long my controllers last (I still have all my original controllers from all my consoles NES upward) that price is a stickler to me as well. It's certainly not going to appreciate over time. I have tons of custom and expensive wheels/arcade sticks that taught me that lesson generations ago.
