You think that later on games will be made that need the larger hard drive space? I mean look at MGS4 for PS3. They say that games gonna take up an insane amount of space on the hard drive. So i'm thinkin that maybe later down the road a larger hard drive will be required for certain 360 games. What ya'll think bout this?

I think external HDD will be used for games and you pick the size you want.  Why not games will just run better off a external disk.  Either that or games will start to be release on flash disk.  Samsung has already made a 36 gig flash disk for soon to come IPOD nanos.

I want a bigger hard drive so i can keep like 20 demos, 50 arcade games, a season of RvB, and that episode of south park.

Indi games being made for XBL are also going to take up a bit of room.

optimal picture is with hdmi, but the audio is still better through the optical output. because it is through a beam of light, and nothing we have so far, is faster than light. no wire. period. meaning it can carry way more data. at a higher speed.

The main reason the Elite was made was to allow HD-DVD movie downloads on the harddrive. This service is becoming more avalaliable and people need more space to save there shows. Thats why it was released. For the HDMI input thats just there to allow people who have a 1080P TV to play games in 1080P.

Also to the person who said a game never goes over 1.5 gigs. Your wrong average games right now are 4-6 Gigs. I dont know how but sooner or later microsoft will see a problem by using DVD as there format for games.

The larger HD space, I think is for DL content.  Things like TV episodes and movies.  I don't think it is necessary for games... but I could be wrong.

No.

The features of Elite are aimed at someone using their Xbox 360 for media center functions, not at the average gamer. There will *never* be a situation where you need more than the 20gb hard drive to play games at their best.

The extra storage space is really for someone who downloads a lot of arcade games, demos, movies, and records tons of in-game footage, and wants to have it all readily accessible simultaneously on their hard drive. However, you can re-download anything, so if you delete a few demos, you can still do the same thing that Elite owners can do.

HDMI DOES NOT provide  a better picture than component cables, read AVS, do serious research, get your HDTV professionally calibrated, and then compare them side-by-side and you'll find there will be no difference. Or take the word of Microsoft, who have themselves stated that there is no visual quality difference.

i think its kinda used less tho isn't it? cuz u can always replace your hard drive, and 360 already came out with the external hd dvd drive or something

I think it's main focus is the extra space and the HDMI output for the best picture for the multimedia entertainment.  But as for hard drive space not mattering for the average gamer I think that will soon change.  Not the ps3/360 generation but the one after it possibly and that will be the way in which we get our games.  I think the optical disk will soon be disappearing and hopefully will cut down on some of the cost otherwise games will push $100 to buy.  I think eventually it'll be digital distrubtion.  Hopefully we'll have the option to archive them somehow and not have to worry about losing anything to a drive failure  or like on Live the abality to redownload content that we have already paid for.  That will be there real advantage to a larger drive....eventually in my opinion.

oh hey hold up there buddy. No diff visually between component cables and hdmi? Na gotta disagree with u on that one. HDMI, DVI, and VGA cables are much better then component cables overall. U may see an improvment in color with components but when it comes to jaggies and such? Go with three forementioned connections I mentioned. By da way u CAN get 1080p with VGA cables.
