To each their own, I hated Enchanted Arms :/
It seemed so influenced from FFVIII, the characters were annoying, the story failed to capture me and the battle system wasn't all that great. Not my kinda setting. Even though FFVIII is my favourite RPGof all time...
Eternal Sonata on the other hand, is a beautiful game. Totally amazing RPG. Best JRPG on the 360 so far :)

You could've waited for a couple of weeks and picked up Mass Effect to properly quench that RPG thirst. :)Raz0redge
Enchanted Arms is pretty sucky. I defy anyone to sit through the start of the game without wanting to hit Makoto in the face with an aircaft carrier. I also thought the golen system was poorly implemented. What's the point in getting the Golems, if they level up much slower than your team, constantly get replaced by better golems, and never learn new moves?SpigleyMcCheese
it's kind of funny that people still think ff7 was a good game.TarzanTheMan
You changed the voice overs to original japanese right? Otherwise, liking the diologue sequences makes you insane.Food_Nipple

Blasphemy!!! and as far as Enchanted Arms goes, haven't been brave enough to risk my money with a game viewed so horribly by others. That's what this site is for... weeding out the crap.

I like Enchanted Arms too, its just that I can barely play it since GH3 is taking too much of my time :D Still at the start (earth quake, golems go berserk) my poor Orange Box has to wait for its turn too :) I guess this is what I get for getting EA, GH3 and OB all at the same time :) But I'm sure Assassin's Creed will steal the spot and will get played first but only until Mass Effect comes. :D pittongkid
I recently finished Enchanted Arms and I was thoroughly impressed. It's definitely one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. The graphics were eye catching over all, loved the battle system, found myselflaughing out loud with regards to Atsuma's stupidity and another certain character's bossiness and I was deeply entertained by the story even though it did trail off for a while about half way through.
I'd recommend making sure you DO NOT rush through the game. Some of the boss battles are VERY tough and you will not be able to defeat them if you're not powerful enough. You can either run back and forth fighting golems or you can 'cheat' and exploit the casino using a 'save and load' method -
----------------------
*1. Bet 1000 chips across the first, middle or last, 12 or so numbers at the Roulette table (approx. 24x odds) to quickly gain chips.
2. Purchase God's Ambrosia in the casino(?)
3. Sell them all at the nearby shop
4.Purchase Mega Skill gems at theshop to level up your characters stats*

I personally couldn't stand the English voices so I played the entire thing in Japanese with subtitles. 'Feels' more RPGish anyway! The only other negative aspect to the game I can think of would be the world you're in. It can be a bit sparse at times. It would have been nice to have an environment that 'lives' but hey, I guess we won't get another Shenmue any time soon...(but that's another story.)
SPOILER - I thought Makoto's ridiculously and overly stereotypical portrayal was one of the funniest things I've ever witnessed. For those FOCUSING on him, he is only with you a short while during the game. There's quite a few other people you will meet and imo, theyare great characters.I will say no more...

I actually went back and listened to just about every cinematic in english, but you should NEVER have to get used to crappy voice acting

P.S. I can't wait until Eternal Sonata comes out in Australia. I'm gonna get that one too for sure. Loved the demo..

Yeah :D you're like me!We have the same opinion of Enchanted Arms (I buy it too) and I can't wait to play Eternal Sonata!!!!!!!
After much deliberation over whether or not to quench my RPG thirst with this game, I dived straight into the deep end and traded in my clocked and unimpressive copy of Skate for Enchanted Arms.
First things first; This game is solid and definitely kicks ass. I can see why the turn based combat system might not be for everyone, but I'm digging it so far.
BUT
The main reason I purchased this game was for its story.
I am totally hooked and am basically unable to put it down. I love story driven RPGs. This one has some pretty lengthy dialogue sequences, all of which I enjoy immensely.
While it may not be the best RPG I've ever played, (That title firmly and rightfully belongs to FFVII) it is a load of fun and incredibly entertaining. I can still turn to Halo 3 for my hardcore action kicks, but right now my heart is strongly with Enchanted Arms.
I love this game.

I enjoyed it very much as well.
I was thinking of getting EA - been putting it off for a while.
Might give it a go since i can get it for 30 bucks preowned at JB.
