I want it back in the next Call of Duty. I felt the removal of it in Modern Warfare 2 made it a bit easier than the previous games. What do you think?

No, too annoying

Respawning was good when AI was stupid as a door

Now that AI puts up a satisfactory challenge there's no need to make games harder by having an imaginary clown car keep on unloading AI over and over and over

2nd. Implementing respawns to create a "challenge" usually just makes a game annoying instead of fun.

Good points, Jaysonguy. So far everyone wants no part with enemy respawning. Why? No one wants harder games?

There's a difference between an actual difficulty and having cheap tactics. Never again do I want respawn in a CoD game. True, it made it fairly easy, but there were still portions that were a challenge that felt a lot more fair than in previous CoD games.

I'd rather have enemies that deal a lot of damageand don't respawn defending point B instead of having enemies that spam a certain cheap tactic and respawn defending point B.

You could write a game where every enemy has a homing rocket-launcher and there's no cover, and it'd be incredibly difficult, but it'd also be incredibly stupid.

Cheap =/= challenging.

I disagree. Cheap = challenging. It's what made the earlier CoD's more difficult in veteran and what makes Ninja Gaiden games so tough.

Challenge implies it's difficult and fun. Cheap does not.

I'm just saying its more challenging. Fun or not is up to the person playing the game.

Well I guess you could play something broken and consider that challenging...

It's not a harder game, it's just tedious

If I go in and clear out an enemy base then I expect it to stay empty while I plan my next objective. I don't expect to clear out a base and then have to babysit a broom closet on the second floor because another squad of soldiers keeps on pouring out of it.

To make truly harder games you need to have a better imagination. Give extra bad guys at specific points in the game that make me have to plan how I confront them, putting extra support at strategic points makes the user have to think about advancing or they get mowed down.

Heck, I'll take games where you need to shoot at vital area or they wont go down as easy. I don't mind a game that makes 1 shot at a bullet proof vest a kill on easy and then it takes 3 to break through the vest on hard.

The only thing I hate is when a dev just makes EVERYTHING need more shots, I'm sorry but a headshot is always a headshot and I expect a 1 hit kill no matter what level I'm playing on.

MW2 was easy because it was still the same stupid AI from back in 2002, only this time there wasn't a million grenades and bullets coming at you. To make the game harder, improve the AI. Hell, even make it 2006 standards. All I know is that 2002-level AI no longer works. Then again, the game is released for people who need their hands held, so maybe that's why the AI is as intelligent as a rock.
