When Halo 3 was released it was one of the most anticipated games ever, and living up to the media hype it set a new record for sales in the first 24-hours (a record previously held by Halo 2). It went on to become the most popular game on xbox live soon after its release. With all this in-mind I want to get an idea on what others think on how well Halo: reach will be received with its release coming in a few hours. Will it be as successful as Halo:3, living up to the hype or will the wild success of Halo 3 cause the bar to be set to high for Reach to get over it. I know that there is a lot of opinions on the subject and I welcome all of them, with out contrasting points of view there is no way to evaluate the idea.

it will match or have more then halo 3. and if you put halo reach on a scale of all 3 systems it would beat mw2 10 folds

It's going to do pretty good, and if I have the money after I get Black Ops and a bow, I might get it. I really just hope the community isn't a bunch of whiny kids, but that hope will probably be in vain.

Will most likely be the most sold game on the Xbox eventually. But definitely it won't get higher than 9.5 from GameSpot unfortunately.

While i'm not sure if I am going to buy it, I can guarantee you that there will be a ton of children playing the game that will never understand how this violence will harm their fragile psyche.

History does tend to repeat itself, but, the situations in which the previous Halos released were different. Halo 2 released into a gaming community that was crazy over online gaming and was lacking a strong game to support its growth. When Halo 3 released, it grown to almost legend from the fact of how much it was pushed with the release of the 360. Reach however only has the power of the success of the franchise to help it. While this may be plenty to make it extremely lucrative but im not sure as much as Halo 3

I think he pretty much just summed it up.

Just a little surprised, but good luck with Reach.

Reach will do quite well, based on my observations. Most gamers I know in my school have already pre ordered. Everyones fingers are crossed that we don't have another ODST on our hands. I think Bungie is really going to try and go the extra mile on this one, it is the last one, after all. Halo is so big, and powerful, it almost seems like blasphemy to speak anything bad about it...

It currently has a 93/100 rating on Metacritic out of 41 critic reviews. I'm pretty sure it will be very high quality and sell well.

Then how do you have 2300 achievement points if you have no games?
