Ever since I got Xbox live, I've been getting patches from my games.

Whats with these patches?? Like assassin's creed, mass effect, GTA IV, gears of war, etc.

Is there a website that tells you which patch you automatically installed?

i dont see the problem here? and there isnt a website im aware of. Pretty major patches (ones that fix major glitches, add new things or greatly affect the way the game plays) usually attract attention and thus there is info on them. but small ones which fix minor bugs and issues dont really get explained

A lot of games get patches to fix glitches, nothing more, nothing less, and not just because of NXE. Some bigger ones that are usually lauded with critical acclaim are ones that fix major parts of gameplay, and that's when they get hype (See; Gears of War 2, The Orange Box)
