I'm approaching the end of Dark Souls and I don't want it to end. I wish I could replay it, but have it all be new again, like it was when I first played it. Being able to discover everything again and have the feeling of not knowing what was around the next corner. I don't think I've ever been this sad about coming to the end of a game before. How about you. Ever wished you could relive your first time through a game?

Just recently, I was playing through KOTOR and Jade Empire again and was wishing that the experience was the same as when I first played them. If only there was some way to trick the brain into thinking that you are playing through a new game, even though you're not.
I'm a sucker for the Dynasty/Samurai warriors games. I remember first playing them and as I'm a strategy nut, I was so amazed. I still like them but they get repetitive. I hope number 7 comes out unless Toei are going to be complete arsebags about it.

Definitely KOTOR is a popular choice, especially when you uncover the truth which is one of the biggest plot twists I ever encountered in a game. I will say something differently. I will say Final Fantasy XI. When it first came out, I got hooked on it. I was a long time FF fan and FFXI sucked me in more because of the music, graphics, and overall community. FFXI was my first MMO game I played. Exploring new areas, fighting new enemies (before it came repetitive), completing hard quests, and such for the first time felt very rewarding. I know FFXI had some negatives and I don't really care how it is today (I think they screwed the game up). FFXI definitely was by no means a perfect game, but it was my first MMO game I played. I wish I could experience that game all over again for the first time. Learning it all over again.
I do Ghost Recon 2.....I also wish Xbox Live was what it was back in the early days of people actually talking in games instead of party chatting all the time.
Just like you with Dark souls and also with games like Alan Wake, Chrono Trigger, Conker's bad fur day, perfect dark, Splatterhouse, Borderlands... Playing a gooooooooooooooood game for the first time is awesome :P
With some games, aye. Saints Row 2 and 3, Fallout 3, Mass Effect 1, Oblivion and Fable 2 and 3 come to mind as the games I wish I could play all over again from the very beginning without any memory of them.
Yeah, Pokemon Firered. -owait this is the 360 board- I wish I could play my Borderlands game again for the first time. That game was very fun and I loved exploring the maps :D
KOTOR is getting a lot of mentions. I'm not surprised. That game was amazing. I can remember reading the review for it in OXM. The opening paragraph said something like.... "We're going to be honest from the start, this game is extremely good. However, we believe a lot of this game would be best enjoyed if you discover it for yourself. So turn the page, look at the score, smile to yourself and go buy a copy NOW!" I took the advice and got a copy that day. Ever though I wasn't a SW fan, I enjoyed it immensely. I keep meaning to play through it again. Perhaps I will over the Christmas break. I finished Dark Souls last night. It's getting my vote for Game of the Year. The last boss was a pain, though. I died so many times while trying to kill him. Sad it's finished but I've moved onto Skyward Sword now, so I wasn't sad for long. Lol.
Definately Mass Effect games. KOTOR is a good shout too. And the first time I played WoW. THat was my first MMO and it was truely epix.

When you talk to Sovereign, that's just immense. I remeber actually being like "Oh **** Was immersed to the point that i felt i HAD to stop the reapers. Same in ME2 when you learn that the reapers are made out of the races of the galaxy. I felt the need to stop this barabaric behaviour by the collectors.
I know this is the 360 board, but I have to say WoW. That was one of the most amazing online experiences I've ever had with a game when I started playing it. Nowadays I can't even really get into it. It used to be so magical and amazing because it was such a huge world/community that I knew absolutely nothing about.
There is only one game I wish I could replayfor the first time and that would be Bioshock. awesome game and wished it would have lasted longer than which it did 15+ hours for me at least.
Almost every time I play my favorite games, i.e Fallout 3/NV, Fable II/III, Kotor 1/2, Resident Evil 4/5... Especially RPG's, although those aren't as bad as FPS's since you get to create new experiences every time you play. Kinda makes me think of the Men in Black device lol. The games are still fun to play, but the element of suprise isn't what it once was.
This feeling is common among most gamers probably.
For me, RPG's bring up this feeling all the time. Chrono Trigger and Earthbound specifically, also the older Final Fantasy games and Secret of Evermore.
As for 360 games, Bioshock and Fallout cause me to feel this way from time to time. I find it is stronger with legacy games, though.
I'd say Bioshock. The twist halfway through blew my mind, while the intro was just amazing. I really wish I could play it for the first time again, just to re experience that wonder and amazement.

Condemned was an under-rated game imo....I loved it. Yeah its one of my favourite games of all time, I loved Condemned 2 aswell, not as good as the first but still great.
