Everyone needs Eternal Sonata. An amazing gaming experience.

I picked up Eternal Sonata last night and I was totally blown away by this game. It may have a kiddy look, but the story is a little deep and dark. I was amazed to hear what the mother was talking about to her young child at the beginning of the game. The story is very original.

The gameplay is great. It's a mix of turn-based and real-time. It's possibly my favorite combat system ever in an RPG.

Also, the graphics are top-notch gorgeous in HD.

Who else picked this one up and is loving it?

I was actually going to get this game, until I played the demo. I just can't stand the whole Hallmark Precios Moments aesthetic. That's not to say that it didn't look good graphically, but the whole style was a major turn-off for me. Shame too, since I really like RPG's. Glad you're enjoying it though.ColoradoKindBud

I wasn't referring to the cell-shading, I was referring to the fact that all the characters look like Hallmark Precious Moments figurines. Like I said, the game looks great graphically, I just can't stand the style of it.

I still might end up picking this up at some point, (because I thought the battle system was cool),but there's way too many good games coming down the pike in the upcoming months for me to settle for something that turns me off artistically.

See, I was thinking that as well considering the number games coming out soon, however, even though it's a X360 title, my question is how many did they print for me to wait that long?

Happened to me with Growlanser on the PS2 (not the uber-collectors edition); I couldn't find it anywhere a little while after it came out and I actually ended up buying it on eBay for $40 because the regular edition has become a collector's item.

I picked it up today and ive been playing it for about 4.5 horus and I AM LOVING IT.

9.5/10 IMO and up there with Bioshock as game of the year SO FAR.

The music is fantastic, the atmosphere and story is just great.

I also feel some kinda connection to this game and the story because i have been really sick the last 4 years in and out of hte hospital, and its just cool to see a game where two of the characters are not doing to well health wise.

Fantastic game that really pulls you in and makes you feel like a kid again (if your not) hehe. And the graphics/Art is just amazing IMO....

Anyways.. this is a game every 360 owner should try

I tried the demo VIA XBL. I just couldn't do it. It was too kiddy, cutesy wootsy for my tastes.legacyzero

I didnt enjoy the demo but i LOVE the full version.

I swear RPGS shouldnt even have a demo, because you cant get a feel for the game in a RPG demo.

i've completed blue dragon and i'm in eternal sonata for about 3 hours

both are great games

i feel that the combat is fairly simple and theres not enough customization for the character's ability

but then again, i'm only 3 hours in so maybe it gets more complex throughout the game

same with me, I really not into rpgs mostly FPS games, but this game got my attention. This will be my first RPG purchase.

Yup imo Sonata and Blue Dragon are both awesome RPGS, but i think i enjyo Sonata a little more. Each game has its good things about it though.

But Sonata seems more polished to me, has better graphics and story...

While Blue Dragon has a deeper magic/fighting, better camera and is a longer game from what i hear

Sonata =- 9.5

Blue Dragon = 8.5

why am i the only one that thinks BD has better graphics than ES?

i mean, ES has amazing art and design but BD has the particles and a more polished "3D" look to it (too bad it doesn't justify to drop in framerate)

I'm really liking it. My only problem is the combat, which is not really real time and not really turn base. I typically like turn base RPGS because of the stratigical elements in combat but there isn't much of that here. But the art design and story are leaps and bounds better than Blue Dragon.

Although I agree with you, I think that this game is not for everyone.

Ill probably wait to pick it up for PS3, itll have 2 more playable characters, a costume thingy similar to FFX-2 I assume, and some other cool things. Yea its not out until 08 but there are plenty of other gamesto hold me off until then.BrolyB593

I just picked it up now because I most likely won't care about it 5-6 months from now. I don't need new characters to play dress up with.
