I'm still debating whether or not I should get it when I buy my 360. I've had my eye on this game since the beginning of this year, but I want to know what is bad about it. If it's really bad, then I'll wait for 09 and maybe they'll have Carl Edwards too in that game, who I think is missing from 08.
I have heard that it is a terrible game...... If you want a racing game then PGR 3 is great...... I think the problem with it is that it feels to arcady if you know what I mean
I want a NASCAR game, but the only next-gen one available is 08. I wish 2K Sports or someone else would make a NASCAR game. (Like how everyone says NBA 2K7 is better than NBA Live 07 which is EA =/)
Well I have it and i like for the most part only issues i have with the game is no split-screen and i do miss the Fight to the Top ihave not done the new version( The Chase) got one lic and just didn't feel it was worth doing all that work just to rae a seasonwith out any real challenge to i allthough gettign the old metals are hardto get and they help alot if ou get them still to much work to play a single season just goto season mode IMO!!! otherwise the game seems more realistic to me it's not liek in real life it's easy to pass or wreck the other drivers if you play the game as meant to, plus ilike working on the setups and playing on the hardest difficulty makes it more of a challenge right now i'm still working on the dayton old car setup buti garentee when i'm done tinkering around no one will be able to beat me ever, right now i'm running 47.800 second laps there regularly. I'm sure after all the complaints on 08 that 09 will be far much better and they better put jeff gordon or montoya on the cover. LoL

its so bad i couldn't even complete one lap in the demo :| i think they forgot to put a steering wheel in my car cause i couldn't control it at all :|zero9167
Yeah I tried the demo today and hated it. I think it's really boring just driving round a track with corners just going left in a big oval. Plus I didn't like the car handling at all. Just my opinion though. :)
I don't use the wheel let alone have the money to buy it and i run just fine if you were any good at vedeo games then you would appreciate the difficulty of the handling of the car... Hint don't jerk the joy stick around in the turns just move it over slightly to set the car the hold it still and slow move it as needed or your tires will loose traction hint thats why they put the traction contral in the game also it is ment for the wheel but frankly 150 bucks for a wheel is not worth it thats half the amount as the system cost WTF!!! franly they need to make maddena challenge liek they made nascar.

I read somewhere that it's easy if you just push the analog stick up and rotate it left/right against the outer circle. So your car gradually turns. How does the road course racing compare to like racing on a super speedway in this game?

Don't listen to any of the reviews on this site; they don't even give the game a chance; yes, at the start you might be really bad at it, but that is how it should be; once you get used to the controls (which i did after a few races), it is an extremely fun game; and correct, Carl Edwards isn't in the game, and there are hardly any Craftsman Truck Series drivers also
well, its nascar, so all you do at every track except for watkins glenn and infinion raceway is drive in circles, and to me that gets old after like 4 laps. stick to forza 2.

EA owns the exclusive license for NASCAR. There won't be another company making NASCAR games for years. EA owns exclusive licenses to over 10 sports(or related player unions).
they will race the COT At the superspeedways and yes the COT is much more difficult to drive than the old car. i havn't started a setup with the cot so i do not know exactly how it handles and i did the demo and didnt' spin once o.O... also to answer zzyangs ?'s.... i havn't tried that i will next time i play and we'll see lol, the road course races seem to be a little bit harder but yet at the same time more consitant with handling than the older games i don't use the braking assist and it's easy to slow down to turn the turns once you get used to the car and the speeds you can carry through the turns. as everyone has said do the demo and if you liek it there or atleast think that you can get used to the game i'd get it if you truly are big nascar fan such as me lol....
P.S. Also the setups you use at each track really determine how the car handles and so forth...
I haven't been a NASCAR fan for a long time. Since the start of this year as a matter of fact. When I found my inner-redneck. j/k =P I really enjoy the sport. NASCAR 08 is probably better than Forza 2 if you like going faster. I don't imagine being able to go that fast in Forza 2. I'm going to try to get the Elite bundle with Forza 2 and the Marvel game. It may be a little while before I actually get to play NASCAR 08 the demo.
It is nearly unplayable. The controls are hardly responsive, I would avoid at all costs. Not even worth a rental.psyko7144

lol sounds good but you know i already said wonce if you WERE ANY GOOD AT VIDEO GAMES then you would be able to play NASCAR 08 easily....AdamInskie24_42
I've seen some YouTube videos of gameplay, and those people run pretty well.
