Hi All,

Has anyone tried hooking an external usb2 drive to their Xbox 360? My 360 disk space is starting to dwindle & I want to start moving my save game files to an external drive. Does this work? Has anyone tried it? What about demo games or XBLA games? Can those be placed on an external drive as well? I don't purchase the music or movie content, so I'm not worried about that wrt space.

Thanks, JET

I haven't tried it but I don't think you can do it. I don't think you can simply because: I can't transfer music off my ZUne (or my iPod when I had one) onto the console so even if you somehow managed to get it on the external HDD you wouldn't be able to use it, just stream any music. You can buy a memory card for your game saves if you want to back those up though

i am just going to assume, i don't think you can because microsoft will be losing money if they allowed that to happen, i don't know how you could use so much memory lol, i only used about 2gb if that but i guess you do download a lot, the 120gb hdd would suite you but yes i know it is very expensive

Most games offer you a choice of where to save the games. So it appears you can save them somewhere else. No one has tried saving a save game to an external drive?

Thanks!

Heck no, Microsoft wants you to pony up 180 bucks for their 120GB xbox harddrive. Get ready to bend over too, because if you know anything about PC hardware you know that you can get a 500GB harddrive for 100 dollars if you know where to look. Just be excited to know if you snatch up that good ol' 120GB drive you're basically donating to the Microsoft charity fund :)

Doesn't work. Microsoft is getting caked up off of their 120 GB hard drives. Sorry folks, that's the business.
