hi :)

I want to buy an XBOX 360 (and I don't want to go for the 4 gb buntle).

I was wondering if it's possible to attach an external HDD to the console, so that I could buy the XBOX with the harddrive. I already have an externma HDD of 500 gb that I'm not really using and I would love if I could use it this way.

Thank you :)

Well it's possible to use small (8gb) usb memory thingies. I'm not sure how many usb ports the ''slim'' has. But I don't think you can save to a 500gb external hard-drive.

You can only use 16 GB with each usb device, so you should buy a 8 or 16 GB usb stick.

If you read his post carefully you will understand that he is talking about usb HDDs, and btw "external HDD" does not refer to a hard drive specifically manufactured for the xbox, for example a WD My Book IS an external HDD

i see your point ,,, but he still cant use it, the 360 would partition off 16gbs and the rest is useless

It COULD be used, but be aware that the Xbox limits USB devices to 16GB, and a maximum of two. So at Max, with two USB Drives, you'd only get 32GB - even if you use a 500GB drive.
